Because it often develops gradually, many people do not notice changes right away. Higher‑pitched sounds, such as children’s and female voices, are often the first to become harder to hear and understand.

Connection and communication can change everything. 💙

For Billy, living with progressive hearing loss meant missing conversations, inside jokes, and meaningful moments. Hearing aids opened the door to connection again—making it possible to fully participate in life, family, and community.

We’re celebrating Ron, our dedicated Hearing Instrument Specialist, for four years of compassionate care at Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center! 💙

One thing people may not know about Ron’s work is how deeply listening truly matters—by listening closely to patients and their families, he helps identify the best ways to improve quality of life through better hearing.

Outside of work, Ron and his wife love traveling—whether it’s weekend trips to the beach or mountains, or big adventures around the world 🌍✈️—and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

🎧 Hearing Care Made More Accessible at CSHC

Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center is proud to be a Start Hearing Preferred Provider—a partnership we’ve trusted for over 10 years, and we’re excited to share some great news!

Effective January 1, 2026, Start Hearing is the exclusive hearing aid vendor for Cigna Healthcare for their Commercial and Cigna Healthy Rewards customers to procure hearing aid devices and supplies. That means if you have Cigna Healthcare, you may be able to use your insurance benefits to receive hearing healthcare services right here at CSHC, from the team you know and trust.

📞 Patients can contact CSHC to learn more, and Cigna Commercial or Cigna Healthy Rewards members may also call Start Hearing and request to be scheduled in our office for hearing testing and hearing aid services.

At CSHC, we’re proud to continue empowering communication and transforming lives—and to help more individuals experience the gift of speech and hearing. 💙
