Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based approach that helps people learn how to manage emotions, handle stress, and build healthier relationships. 💙

At The Blanchard Institute, DBT is a core part of our mental health program—giving clients practical tools they can use in real life, not just in session. Through mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, clients build skills that support stability, self-awareness, and meaningful progress in treatment.

Healing doesn’t happen alone—and it doesn’t happen without the right tools. ✨

If you or a loved one are seeking compassionate, evidence-based outpatient mental health care, give us a call at 704-610-2735 to schedule a same-day assessment or admission.

Programs like our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provide structured, therapeutic support while helping individuals stabilize, build coping skills, and move forward with intention.

You don’t have to go through this alone. Reach out to our admissions team at 704-610-2735 to find out if a higher level of care is the right choice for you or your loved one.

The Blanchard Institute offices are closed today, Monday, January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr Day.

We’d like to take a moment to reflect on the words and actions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who reminded the world that meaningful change is not passive, but born through courage, compassion, and the willingness to keep going, even when the struggle is long. His life’s work showed us that dignity, justice, and hope are not reserved for a few, but belong to all people.

For those in recovery, his message still resonates and proves that growth happens through persistence, honesty, and choosing humanity again and again. As we reflect today, may we honor Dr. King not only with words, but with action — by meeting others with empathy, standing beside those who are struggling, and believing that transformation is possible for every life, one brave step at a time.

What no one talks about in early recovery is how much there is to feel. Grieving alcohol, navigating questions about why you quit, and suddenly becoming hyper-aware of how centered alcohol is in our culture. There’s the discomfort of outgrowing certain relationships, the relief of finding real ones, and the quiet moments of pride that happen when no one’s watching.

Recovery isn’t linear. Some days feel heavy, some days feel hopeful, and a lot of days feel like both. Progress doesn’t always look like forward motion—it often looks like learning, unlearning, and choosing yourself again.

The journey can be tough, especially in the early stages, but every hard moment is laying the foundation for real change. And over time, those small, steady choices add up, making recovery—and the life you’re building—worth it in the end.

If you or someone you love is struggling with their sobriety or considering treatment, you don’t have to navigate it alone. We’re here to support, guide, and walk alongside you every step of the way. Give us a call at 704-610-2735. Whether you’re looking for answers, reassurance, or a place to start, help is available and healing is possible.

Learning to detach with love isn't giving up — it's about choosing your peace.

Finding the line of healthy detachment means letting go emotionally without avoiding the person and taking a step back to find solutions instead of proving who is right. It means protecting your mental health, your relationships, and your overall wellness while you both navigate the road to recovery. Read more about healthy detachment at https://www.theblanchardinstitute.com/healthy-detachment-unhealthy-avoidance/

If you or a loved one needs support in their path to recovery, call 704-610-2735 to learn more about how our programs and services can help, or to schedule a same-day assessment.
