Why should professionals attend our Family Workshop?

The belief that clients and families must “really want it” or “hit rock bottom” before change is possible is a harmful myth—one that evidence-based practices continue to challenge. Nearly every professional in this field encounters substance use and mental health concerns, whether directly or indirectly. Our Family Workshop equips you with the knowledge, skills, and tools to replace misinformation with understanding—and to show up more effectively for the people you serve.

Plus, professionals are eligible to earn up to 8 FREE CE credits from NAADAC or NCASPPB.

Join us virtually on Friday, April 10th and Saturday, April 11th virtually or in-person.

Alcohol Awareness Month is a reminder that what we’re seeing in our communities matters.

Across North Carolina, the impact of alcohol use reaches further than most people realize. If you or a loved one recognize yourself in any of these statistics, know that it's not too late to get help, and you don't have to do it alone.

Give us a call at 704-610-2735 to learn more about how we can help, or to schedule a same-day assessment.

A reminder that caring for your mental health doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes it looks like getting outside, taking a rest, enjoying time with others, staying off social media, and getting restful sleep.

It may not feel like much, but it matters more than you think.

Our Family Workshops are all about connection – designed to help families understand the disease process, realign unhealthy patterns, and develop practical tools for healthier support and long-term recovery.

Families learn how to:
• Understand mental health and substance use disorders as family diseases
• Establish and maintain healthy boundaries
• Recognize family roles and enabling behaviors
• Communicate clearly and effectively
• Navigate the challenges of early recovery
• Support recovery without losing themselves

This is not traditional family therapy. This is family realignment.
Join us April 10th and 11th virtually or in-person.

Our Clinical Director, Christie Whisenant, spoke with WSOCTV about the rise in problem gambling in North Carolina. Calls to the state’s problem gambling helpline have more than tripled since the legalization of sports betting two years ago.

At The Blanchard Institute, we’ve also seen an increase in clients seeking help for gambling-related issues since legalization began. Warning signs may include financial changes such as difficulty paying bills, large withdrawals from bank accounts, or significant new credit card debt.

Learn more about gambling treatment at The Blanchard Institute at https://www.theblanchardinstitute.com/gambling-addiction-treatment/ or give us a call at 704-610-2735.

Data shows that gamblers in the state bet a total of $13.5 billion over that two-year period.

Hypervigilance is what happens when survival mode becomes your default setting. It's often a result of traumatic experiences or high-stress environments.

It may have helped you once, but you don’t have to live in that mindset forever.
Understanding the "why" behind the behavior is the first step, and regulating your nervous system is the next.

Swipe for practical coping tools you can start using today, or give us a call at 704-610-2735 to schedule a same-day assessment and start your recovery journey.

Women’s History Month is a reminder of the impact women have made—and continue to make—across every space they step into. We are grateful to be surrounded by individuals who are not only driving change, but doing it with intention and authenticity.

Meet Rebecca Hutchins, who is helping lead the way in expanding what thoughtful, high-quality care can look like in our communities.

Here’s to the women shaping what’s next!
