She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and specializes in obesity and medical weight management. She has firsthand experience with weight loss having lost 80 lbs with diet and exercise. She knows first hand that weight loss is not easy and "1 size does not fit all". She understands the battle between fighting cravings, taming stubborn physiology,and the struggle to make healthy choices everyday. She knows that none of her patients "want" to be unhealthy or gain weight but there are several factors that make losing weight easier said than done. Dr. Covington chose to specialize in obesity management after seeing that a great deal of adult chronic diseases were impacted by excess weight.
