By caring for the first child in Northern Virginia to come home from the hospital on a ventilator, Continuum ultimately gained the expertise necessary to change the lives of hundreds of families in all the regions we service. Our vision, enabled by technological advances over the last two decades, now allows an increasing number of children who survive birth defects, or who have severe illnesses or syndromes, to move more quickly out of acute care settings or long term care facilities and into physician-directed nursing care in their own home surrounded by their family.
