I often talk with parents about helping kids become more flexible thinkers.

When something doesn’t go their way or plans change, it’s easy for kids to get stuck in “that’s not fair” or “I don’t want to!”

Instead, we can help them practice thoughts like, “I can do it later,” or “It’s no big deal.”
These simple phrases build flexible thinking—and flexible thinking helps kids stay calm, problem-solve, and bounce back faster.

If you’d like to teach your kids how to think more flexibly, I’ve created some practical resources to help you get started. You’ll find them in my bio.

In our home, this simple truth has guided us for decades — Everyone in our family should treat everyone else in our family respectfully. All the time. 💛

It started on our refrigerator — now it’s written in our hearts. The Family Respect Rule is one of the best foundations you can give your home. Hang it where everyone can see it. Speak it often. Live it daily. Because families grow stronger when respect never takes a day off.

Let’s raise a generation that treats one another with kindness, even on the hard days. 🌿

Being an authentic parent doesn’t mean being perfect.

It means showing your kids what to do when you mess up—apologize, make things right, pray, learn, and try again. ❤️

Your kids don’t need perfection; they need you.
