I often talk with parents about helping kids become more flexible thinkers.
When something doesn’t go their way or plans change, it’s easy for kids to get stuck in “that’s not fair” or “I don’t want to!”
Instead, we can help them practice thoughts like, “I can do it later,” or “It’s no big deal.”
These simple phrases build flexible thinking—and flexible thinking helps kids stay calm, problem-solve, and bounce back faster.
If you’d like to teach your kids how to think more flexibly, I’ve created some practical resources to help you get started. You’ll find them in my bio.
