Stop worrying about the "maze" and start focusing on your future.

Let’s be honest: The Social Security Administration (SSA) can feel like a labyrinth. Between the confusing acronyms, the bulky envelopes, and the constant fear of losing your safety net, it’s easy to feel stuck.

But you don’t have to navigate that maze alone.

Our latest blog post breaks down exactly how Employment Networks (ENs)—like Advocations—act as your professional "maze-busters." If you receive SSI or SSDI, you have access to the Ticket to Work program, a powerful (and free!) resource designed to help you return to work on your own terms.

Here’s what we’re breaking down for you:

The "Oh-No" Factor: How we help you manage your benefits while increasing your income.

The Golden Ticket: Why this voluntary program is your pass to free career coaching and job placement.

Perfect Alignment: Our incentives only match yours—we only succeed when you land the job.

At Advocations, we aren’t "case managers." We are Career Coaches on The A-Team, and we are unapologetically disability-forward. We know the rules, we know the "cliffs," and we know how to handle the paperwork so you can focus on your career.

Don’t panic—we’ve got this.

No More "Mailbox Anxiety"

We’ve all been there—that "stomach-drop" feeling when you see a thick envelope from Social Security in your mailbox.

You’re worried about the benefits cliff, losing your healthcare, or "messing up" the paperwork. At Advocations, we don't think you should have to choose between a paycheck and your peace of mind.

That’s why the most important person on The A-Team is your Benefits Counselor. Think of them as your personal Fear-Buster.

They aren't "case managers"—they are your strategists. They help you:
✅ Run the Numbers: See exactly how a job impacts your check (no guessing!).
✅ Bust the Myths: Learn why you likely won't lose your Medicare/Medicaid right away.
✅ Navigate the "Oh-Nos": We handle the scary forms and secret codes so you can focus on your new job.

We work different. We believe that when you understand the rules, the fear disappears. And when the fear disappears, you are free to build the career you deserve.

Ever feel like your resume is falling into a black hole?

You spend hours tweaking every word, hit "Apply," and then... nothing. It’s frustrating, and it can feel personal. But here’s a secret from the A-Team: It’s usually not you. It’s a robot.

Most big companies use an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Think of it as a digital gatekeeper that scans for "code" before a human ever sees your name. If your formatting is too fancy or your keywords don't match, the system might toss your application aside—no matter how talented you are.

Don’t panic. We’ve got this. At Advocations, our Career Coaches help you navigate the "oh-nos" and the unknowns of the job hunt. We’ve put together a quick guide to help you "beat the bots" and get your resume into human hands.

In our latest blog, we break down:
✅ How to use the right keywords (without the stress).
✅ Why simple formatting is actually your best friend.
✅ How to turn that "No" into a "Yes."

Your skills are valuable, and you are untapped talent. Don't let an algorithm stand in your way.

Don’t let a paycheck give you a panic attack.

We know that getting your first check (or a well-deserved bonus!) feels amazing. But for many people with disabilities, that excitement is often followed by a wave of anxiety: "Is Social Security going to cut me off? Am I going to get hit with an overpayment?"

The system is scary, and the paperwork is a headache—but don’t panic. Ghosting Social Security is never the answer, and you don’t have to face the bureaucracy alone.

As your Career Coaches, The A-Team is in your corner to handle the "oh-nos" of reporting. We help you navigate the rules so you can celebrate your income instead of stressing over the mail.

In our latest blog post, we’re breaking down:

What counts: From hourly wages to holiday bonuses.
The "Silence Trap": Why avoiding reporting leads to big financial penalties later.

Your Safety Net: How we monitor your timeline to keep your benefits compliant.

Stop walking through the minefield of paperwork. Let us handle the red tape so you can focus on your job.

Let’s be real: Working from home sounds like the ultimate dream until you’re staring at a pile of laundry and a confusing benefits form at the same time.

Stop worrying about your benefits—start focusing on your future.

Are you ready to jump back into the workforce but terrified of the "benefits cliff"? We know the feeling. The paperwork is bulky, the deadlines are scary, and the unknowns about Medicaid and Medicare can feel overwhelming.

But here is the truth for 2026: The system is designed to keep you covered.

Whether it’s the 8.5-year Medicare guarantee for SSDI recipients or the high Medicaid earnings thresholds (like $51,178 in NC or $66,078 in CA!) for those on SSI, there is a safety net waiting for you.

At Advocations, our Career Coaches are your "Fear-Busters." We handle the technicalities so you can focus on your new job. We’ll help you:
✅ Navigate the "oh-no" moments of 2026 reporting.

"Is asking for an accommodation going to cost me the job?"

We hear this question every single day at Advocations. If you’re living with a disability, the "oh-nos" of the job hunt are real. The paperwork is scary, the deadlines are intimidating, and the fear of "messing up" your benefits is heavy.

Don’t panic. The A-Team is in your corner.

Here is the truth: An accommodation isn’t a "special favor" or a "handout." It is your civil right under the ADA. It’s the tool that lets you show up and do your best work.

How to navigate the "Ask" without the stress:

✅Know Your Shield: If a company has 15+ employees, they are legally required to provide reasonable accommodations. This isn't charity; it's the law.
✅ Focus on the Win: You don’t need to share your medical history. Just explain what you need to succeed.
Try saying: "With [Accommodation X], I can fully demonstrate my skills for this role."
✅ The "No" is a Red Flag: If an employer won't make a simple change to help you during an interview, they probably won't support you on the job. You deserve a workplace that gets it.

We work different. Whether you’re looking for your first job or a leadership role, we connect you with employers who see your talent as a competitive advantage.

Stop navigating the unknowns alone. Let’s get to work.

Have a question about interview accommodations? Drop it in the comments or send us a DM. Our Career Coaches are ready to help!

Moving From Anxiety to Action
Stop working for the system and start working for yourself.

We know that "knot in your stomach" feeling. You want to work, but the fear of losing your medical coverage or triggering a benefits overpayment stops you cold.

At Advocations, we call this system trauma—and it’s real. But it doesn't have to be your forever.

One member of The A-Team recently proved that with the right Career Coach, you can move from paralyzed to empowered. We helped her:

Navigate the scary paperwork without the stress.

Get radical clarity on how working actually affects SSI/SSDI.

Don't panic—we handled the "what ifs" so she could focus on her future.

Today, she’s earning $21/hr in a remote role she loves. She isn't just "protecting benefits" anymore—she’s building real stability for her family.

"I learned I could work without the sky falling," she told us. "Now, I'm in charge".

Ready to write your own success story? We’re here to help you navigate the "oh-nos" and the unknowns.

That bulky envelope from the SSA just landed in your mailbox. Don’t panic.

The SSA-821 (Work Activity Report) is a process, not a punishment. It’s your chance to tell the full story of your work life, including the extra effort and support that make your success possible.

As your Career Coaches, the A-Team is here to help you navigate the "oh-nos" of the 2026 reporting season. Here is what you need to know:

Know the 2026 Numbers: The Trial Work Period threshold is $1,210/month, and Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA) is $1,690/month.

Don’t Just List Wages: Tell the SSA about your "Special Conditions"—like having a job coach or taking extra breaks. These supports can protect your benefits by lowering your "countable" earnings.

Claim Your Expenses: If you pay for meds or special transport to get to work, list them as Impairment-Related Work Expenses (IRWEs).

Be Specific: If you had to stop working or reduce hours due to your disability, say so. This helps prove an "unsuccessful work attempt," which keeps your safety net secure.

You focus on the job; we’ve got your back on the paperwork.

Let’s be honest—job interviews can feel like a high-stakes interrogation.

When you’re navigating the "what-ifs" of returning to work while on SSI or SSDI, the pressure to have every "right" answer is real. You might be worried about explaining a gap in your resume or when to talk about your disability.

But here is a secret from The A-Team: The interview is a two-way street!

At Advocations, we work different. We want you to walk into that room knowing you are valuable talent. Our latest blog post, "Flip the Script," shows you how to take the lead.

Our Career Coaches break down:
Why asking questions makes you look like a pro (not "difficult"). How to spot the "Oh-Nos" in a company before you sign an offer. Why your voice is the most important one in the room.

Is the fear of losing your benefits keeping you from a paycheck?

Let’s be real: The system is designed to be confusing, and the thought of a "benefits cliff" is enough to keep anyone awake at night. But don’t panic. 2026 is actually a great year to start your comeback.

The rules have changed, and they are in your favor. We’ve just posted a new guide to help you navigate the 2026 Ticket to Work updates without the stress.
