The Year of the Horse reminds us of strength, endurance, and forward motion. 🐎

Horses move with courage, even when the path is long—and so do you.

If you’re navigating a cancer journey, may this year be a reminder that every step forward matters. Some days call for rest, others for resilience—but all of them count. Keep moving at your own pace. Strength lives within you, even on the hardest days.

Here’s to a year of steady progress, quiet bravery, and hope that carries you forward. 💛

Motivation Monday✨

“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.” — Helen Keller 💙

If you’re walking through cancer treatment right now, some days may feel heavier than others. There are moments of exhaustion, uncertainty, and questions you didn’t ask for. But within this journey, there is also strength rising. There is resilience building. There is overcoming happening — even on the days it doesn’t feel like it.

Overcoming doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like showing up for an appointment. Taking the medication. Getting out of bed. Letting someone help. Breathing through a hard moment.

Every small step forward matters.

You are not defined by this diagnosis. You are not alone in this fight. And even in the middle of difficulty, your courage is writing a story of overcoming.

Keep going. 💙

Motivation Monday ✨

☀️ “When you can’t find the sunshine, be the sunshine.” ☀️

A cancer journey can bring days that feel heavy, uncertain, and overwhelming. There may be moments when the light feels far away. But even in those moments, there is something powerful within you — your courage, your kindness, your resilience.

Being the sunshine doesn’t mean pretending everything is okay. It means choosing hope when you can. It means showing up for an appointment you’re nervous about. It means sending a text, asking for support, or offering a smile to someone else in the waiting room.

Your light might look different each day — sometimes it’s strength, sometimes it’s rest, sometimes it’s simply getting through the next hour. And that is enough.

If today feels cloudy, remember: even the smallest ray of light can break through. And sometimes, that light is you. 💛

Helping you and your family cope with cancer

When you come to our Novant Health Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center, you’re entering a space designed to help you and your family in the time following a diagnosis. The center is in a comfortable, home-like setting close to the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center campus, near uptown Charlotte. At the center you'll find special programs and support, as well as services that aim to help you look and feel your best. For example, the Lending Boutique is filled with wigs for women who are beginning treatment. Services are provided by a team of counselors and case managers who are specially trained to treat cancer; they provide individual and family counseling, support groups and special events, educational programs, financial resource guidance, a resource library, and a lending boutique with beautiful wigs for cancer patients who have lost their hair due to chemo treatments.
