The alarm went off at 5:30am. I didn’t want to get up to workout, but I did. Leg day is not typically one that I dread… but I’m tired.
Physically, mentally, emotionally.
Infertility, miscarriage, adoption.
It’s all been a lot.
But as I was finishing my last set of jump lunges, I looked up at the wall and read the words I’ve read so many times over the last 2.5 years…
“If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.”
I had always been inspired by those words in a very physical sense. Lift heavier, push harder, just a few more reps… but today those words hit different.
Today, those words reminded me of the work that the Lord has called me into. They reminded me that God is going to use the challenges in your life to stretch you, to grow you, to make you look more like HIM. They moved me to tears and strengthened my spirit.
Why do I share all this? Because everyone’s walking around with something. Those brothers and sisters you are working out beside, the people in line with you at the grocery store, even the influencers you’re following on social media… we’ve all got “stuff”, seasons, struggles.
Let this be your encouragement to welcome the challenge and to let the Lord stretch you and sanctify you… even if it’s uncomfortable, even if you’re tired.
Let it also be your encouragement to find a community that will challenge you to be better- be it , Bible study, or something else. Rally around your people and let them rally around you.
And keep after the KINGDOM WORK! đź’™
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
