Feeling Thanks-Giving
❤️
For all of my life, I’ve felt the bad feelings in my body.
Whether it was an animal in distress or a tree cut down or the suffering of a loved one or the sharp words someone said to me that pierced my heart >
I could truly feel the feeling in my body > the pain 💔
🧡
It was only in the last few years, that a lovely therapist
brought it to my attention >>
that I could not feel the good feelings very well >
actually I could not feel them at all.
💛
She began to teach me how to take in “good” feelings ~
just a smidge here in my body and a drop there in my body.
Honestly, it was annoying and even painful.
Why couldn’t I actually feel something good
in the way I could feel something bad?!?
💚
It’s something I am much more tuned into now!
🩵
Maybe you could practice feeling
the “good” feelings and not just the “bad” ones.
💙
Check out the exercise below ⬇️
and let me know if you try it :)

Your Good Feeling Homework:
Level One:
Today (or any day), keep your heart and eyes open
for experiences that feel hopeful and “good-feeling.”
Is there anything that just stops you with an
“ahhhh” or “oh so sweet” or “how precious”?
Next, put your hands on your heart and close your eyes
(unless you’re driving!) >
and absorb as much of that good feeling into your heart
that you can!
Level Two:
Repeat Level One and add the good feeling to
other parts of your body!
A cute kitty > that feeling goes into your toes!
A beautiful sky > that feeling goes into your brain!
A lovely sunset > that feeling goes into your torso!
A puddle in a leaf > that feeling goes into your smile!
Of course, adjust this practice as you feel inclined...
place your hands on your body where you are absorbing the good feelings...
and let me know how it feels :)
