Dr. “Sam” Burrow (D.M.D, MS) was born in Charlotte and graduated from Charlotte Country Day, before moving to Charleston to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Biology at the College of Charleston. He graduated magna cm laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, and then stayed to earn a D.M.D. with honors at the Medical University of South Carolina. Although loving the South, he desired to go into orthodontics alongside his father and chose to complete his orthodontic residency at University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan. While at UDM, he worked with the latest technology and orthodontic systems offered, and also presented research to the American Association of Orthodontics, on using scanning technologies to incorporate overall facial aesthetics into orthodontic practice.

Dr. Burrow is excited to bring his experience back to Charlotte and to make his patients his highest priority, giving them the best quality treatment possible. He is certified in both Incognito Lingual braces and the Invisalign system. During his free time Dr. Burrow loves traveling, spending time at the beach, playing sports such as basketball, golf and tennis, and being around friends and family.

Dr. Britney Welchel (D.M.D., MS) was born and raised in the small town of Winter Haven, Florida. She graduated magna cm laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Loving her time in South Carolina, she decided to move to beautiful Charleston to pursue her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Welchel graduated first in her dental school class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the prestigious national dental honor society. After dental school, she continued her education at Baylor College of Dentistry’s 35-month orthodontic specialty residency in Dallas, TX, earning both a Master of Science in Oral Biology and Certificate in Orthodontics. While in Dallas, Dr. Welchel conducted research on the corticotomy procedure, a means of accelerating orthodontic tooth movement.

Dr. Welchel has been eager to return to the Carolinas, and found that Charlotte was the perfect fit! She is passionate about create gorgeous smiles for her patients, and strives, together with Dr. Sam and Dr. Jack, to provide the highest level of care and excellence through individualized treatment and attention. In her time outside of the office, she is an avid fisher(wo)man and enjoys hiking, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and family.
