Some kind words for your Monday motivation from our clients and community members.

Last year at the 5K, we encouraged attendees and clients the following week to share why mental health matters to them and to share encouraging words for others.

Almost a year later, it hangs as the focal point when you walk into our group room. Reminding us that we are not alone, that we matter, and our mental health matters too.

Our team had a great time at the Emerald Gala on Friday. It was inspiring to see and hear stories from the students and alumni about their recovery from substance use and mental health with encouragement of the Emerald School. It was also amazing to see the community come together to support resources that uplift young people.

You may have heard a lot of talk lately about trauma therapies like EMDR and Brainspotting. At QCCC, we’re a trauma focused practice for teens and young adults, and can help support you with either. But first let’s talk about what the difference is and how they each work to help determine which could be the better fit for you!

They both utilize eye movements or bilateral stimulation to process trauma without having to talk about it as much as a verbal processing session.

Therapists can use their hands to guide you through the movements or tools like the ones pictured: a light bar, headphones, hand buzzers, or a pointer.

If you’re interested in learning more or scheduling an appointment for EMDR or Brainspotting, reach out to our office!

Our clinical intern Abigail Liescheidt is now accepting clients!

Abigail has been with QCCC for about 6 months shadowing and leading individual and group sessions. She enjoys working with teens and young adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress management, life transitions, family dynamics, and emotional regulation.

Abigail’s sessions are offered at an affordable rate of $35 per session. Working with an intern is a great way to begin your therapy journey at a lower cost while still feeling fully supported as she receives supervision and guidance from our senior clinicians.

Reach out to our office if you’re interested in scheduling an appointment or learning more about her!

If you’ve been in our office, you’ve probably noticed that we have several cacti and related artwork all around. For us, the cactus is a symbol of resilience.

Much like the cactus, different life events and experiences cause people to respond in ways to protect themselves from pain and harm and allow them to keep going.

This is the power of human resiliency. Humans can withstand and bounce back from the unimaginable circumstances, much like the cactus that endures harsh conditions on a daily basis.

At QCCC, we are strong believers that no matter the circumstances and live events you have experienced, everyone has and deserves the ability to love, care, and show compassion to both themselves and others. It is our job to help you access the inner you to find warmth and care.

We are excited to share that we are now offering Individual Intensive Programs (IIPs) for teens and young adults! IIPs offer a similar level of care to a traditional IOP Program, but includes primarily individual sessions rather than group therapy.

These are a good fit for people who have not benefited from or are not appropriate for group sessions. These programs are customizable to meet your unique needs!

Check our these slides for more details and reach out to our office if you're interested in learning more about if an IIP could be a good fit for you!

Sometimes healing looks like talking. Sometimes it looks like movement. We love to incorporate experiential therapies in our Intensive Outpatient Program groups. Twice a month, a trauma informed certified yoga therapist leads our group participants in mindful yoga activities connecting body and brain.

In addition to yoga, we also incorporate music therapy and nutrition with a registered dietitian in our group sessions with the goal of supporting healing through a whole-person, mind-body approach.
