History Lessons | Mandela House Museum
A historic iconic landmark in SOWETO
It was where Nelson Mandela lived between 1946 and 1962. Collections of memorabilia, paintings and photographs of the Mandela family.
Bullet holes are still in evidence in the walls, as are scorch marks from petrol bombs thrown at the house whilst Mandela was in prison. He returned to this home after being imprisoned for 27 years

Yes mud huts exist but we prioritize nice accommodations for our nurses to be well rested to serve effectively. One is already experiencing jet lag, environmental changes, possible dehydration & gut issues. Missions have a history of creating an experience for a volunteer to “live as those you serve” but we are there to do a job and do it effectively There’s no need for placing volunteers in extreme conditions unless it absolutely calls for it in order to help

If it’s your first time doing missions we always recommend our South Africa signature trip! It’s a great way to learn the NWP philosophy, our mission and goals. You are able to see and work in a variety of healthcare settings such as makeshift clinics, villages, orphanages, schools and provide healthcare education Visit our website for more info on everything that is covered. What an incredible mission! The NWP team spent 7 days providing a medical camp in a remote Cambodian village. We screened every child and treated minor injuries on the playground. Looking back and having a chance to read alllllllll of the cards they gave us, lets us know the work@is not finished! Looking forward to another visit in March!
