Goes Red for National Heart Month!

Friday, 2/4 is National Wear Red Day! Know your risk and protect your heart.

The first Friday in February (February 4th) is National wear Red Day. On this day in February, which is considered National Heart Month, everyone across the country is encouraged to wear the color red in order to raise and spread awareness of cardiovascular disease. It’s important to know your risk and protect your heart. Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. Wear red and help eradicate heart disease and stroke.

Start the New Year with SMART Goals

To make 2022 the best for you, it is important to establish realistic and achievable goals. Sign up for this free, online Statewide Wellness Program Lunch & Learn presentation from LifeStyle Medical Center.

From 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. January 26, Katie Godin, RD, LDN will explain the importance of setting SMART goals and how to do so effectively. She will then lead into a cooking demonstration to highlight quick and easy lunch meal prep ideas to make bringing lunch to work a breeze.

Join ACCEHW for National Walking Day on Wednesday, April 7, 2021! Take time to enjoy a walk on this day, whether working from home or on campus. Due to the pandemic, ACCEHW is not offering any group walks this year, but we encourage you to get out and walk on your own. Send ACCEHW a picture of yourself/the scenery during your walk along with the amount of time you walked to my-health@uncc.edu so we can report how many UNC Charlotte employees participated and the total time walked.

All you have to do is print or download the calendar, check off the daily tasks as you complete it, and post updates HERE (on the committee page) about your journey throughout the challenge. Tell us about your workouts; your meals/meal prep; what's going well; what you may be struggling with; etc.
