After living with Parkinson’s disease, Robert began to notice something many people take for granted slipping away, his voice.

Our ABLE: Community for All Abilities Employee Resource Council (formerly SAFE: Solutions and Accessibility for Equality) helps foster an inclusive environment where people of all abilities feel supported, empowered, and valued at BAYADA.

Recently, ABLE members volunteered at Wings of Eagles Ranch in Concord, NC—a therapeutic riding center for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Co-Chair Jackie and Secretary Courtney served as Group Leaders for a full-day camp, guiding activities like horseback riding, arts and crafts, climbing, and puppy therapy. They ensured campers had a safe, fun, and empowering experience ❤️

From Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to Client Services Manager (CSM), Maria’s journey at BAYADA is a testament to growth, compassion, and connection. She began as a bilingual HHA in Essex, NJ, quickly becoming a trusted caregiver before moving into an administrative support role and eventually stepping into her current role as CSM. Today, Maria ensures our clients receive compassionate, one-on-one care while supporting and motivating her office of 450 HHAs.

Beyond her day-to-day work, Maria shines in community outreach—from coat drives to school supply collections—bringing BAYADA’s mission to life both inside and outside the office. Her secret? Our Maui, HI Behavioral Health, Habilitation, and Home Health teams came together to support a local elementary school’s Fitness Fun Day, a fundraiser that promotes health and wellness throughout the community. The event also helps provide classrooms with essential supplies, training, and support for the school’s art program.

“Over my 25 years with BAYADA, I have been fortunate not only to grow professionally, but also to build meaningful personal connections that I truly cherish.” – Vilma, BAYADA Client Service Manager (CSM)

Vilma was one of the first employees in our Essex, NJ office and has helped grow the practice while serving as a bilingual bridge for Spanish-speaking clients and aides, eventually working her way up to her CSM role. Over the years, she has built strong, trusting relationships with clients and families, becoming the person her teammates turn to during challenging or sensitive situations.

Aside from her work accomplishments, Vilma trained for and completed a 5K in Puerto Rico in support of multiple sclerosis awareness, in honor of her brother who was diagnosed with MS.

From starting as a home health aide, to becoming an administrative assistant, to growing into her current role as client service manager (CSM), Tara has demonstrated unwavering commitment to our clients, their families, and her colleagues. Her dedication has been recognized with multiple awards, including a Hero of the Quarter award, the Linda Siessel Award, and, together with her office, a Top Dove Office award.

They had a wonderful time running, jogging, and walking alongside the community in honor of inclusion and awareness.

Sean joined BAYADA last April after completing a Home Health Aide (HHA) 101 course offered by our Wilmington, NC office. His reliability, compassion, and consistency in picking up extra shifts so families can keep important out-of-town appointments led to his nomination and recognition with a Hero Award in his office division.

BAYADA Director Felicia shares that what stands out most about Sean is how person-centered and creative he is in caring for his client with autism. She says, “Sean doesn’t see tasks, he sees a person.” Sean has empowered his client by teaching him modified fishing and disc golf, and by turning therapy into “Story Time with POTUS” and “Surfing Safari.” His client’s mother has shared that Sean’s innovative care has transformed her son’s quality of life and given their family greater peace of mind.

Rachel first began her journey with BAYADA in 2013. After stepping away for a time, she returned to our Charlotte Pediatric office in 2021—and we couldn't be more grateful!

During the COVID pandemic, Rachel served as one of our dedicated nurse extenders in the school setting, stepping up when our community needed her most. Since then, she has continued to provide compassionate, high-quality care in the homes of several pediatric clients and has taken on the important role of nurse designee.
