Walker wasn’t with his family for long, but he left them with plenty of memories. He had a special bond with his big sister, Skylar, and she loved to play with him. The family spent a lot of time outside, enjoying Walker’s happy, joyful demeanor and his adorable smile.

Walker’s parents made the decision to donate his organs to help others in need. His heart and liver saved the lives of 2 other babies.

Mission Health honored by hearing from the mother of an organ, eye, and tissue donor. Stephanie shared how her son, Thomas, was able to become a hero just like he always wanted. Thomas changed the lives of nearly 400 people as an organ, eye, and tissue donor hero.

Just like Stephanie, we're incredibly grateful for advocates like the teammates at Mission Hospital.

What a gorgeous, windy day for a flag raising 🌤️ It’s been 18 years since his heart transplant and Tom, a former LifeShare teammate, is still sharing his story 💙💚

Teammates at Atrium Health Pineville heard how organ donation saved his life at their celebration where they raised the LifeShare and Donate Life flag as a visible sign of their support for donation.

Thank you to Atrium Health Pineville for their passion for organ, eye, and tissue donation! They are a valuable partner in our mission of giving hope, life, and healing.

Over the next 2 weeks we will be honoring some of our youngest heroes, who gave the gifts of organ, eye, and tissue donation. These young heroes will also be honored with a brick dedicated in their honor at Our Children’s Memorial Walkway. We begin our tributes with Willow.

Willow left quite an impact during her 2 years. Her mother describes her as a vibrant and beautiful little girl who loved being held. She loved being outside and hearing windchimes. She also loved Disney’s Encanto and playing with her spin toys.

Willow’s donated organs saved the lives of 2 others.

Craig knew how to make people laugh. His life partner, Mary Ellen, said he was devoted and fiercely loyal to his loved ones. She also shared how smart he was and that he was a proud small business owner.

Craig didn’t let his blindness “cramp his style,” according to Mary Ellen. He loved Star Trek, history, going to the shooting range, and all kinds of music.

Craig saved 3 lives through organ donation. He will also heal 6 people through his donated tissue. If you want us to highlight your donor hero, you can nominate them at LifeShareCarolinas.org/Tributes.
