Our fully remote operations team recently visited our headquarters. We're happy they came by, but they were a little... quirky. We'll just call it (office) culture shock 🤷

Ricky had a stern voice but a calming demeanor. It’s one of the many things his son misses about him. Ricky was a marine and his son said he wasn’t afraid of anything.

In his spare time, Ricky loved fishing and shooting his guns at the firing range. He also loved to drive his big truck!

Ricky will impact 25 lives through the donation of his tissue. He also gave the gift of sight to 1 person through eye donation. If you’d like us to honor your donor hero, you can nominate them at LifeShareCarolinas.org/Donor-Families/Honoring-Donors/

Pillsbury Doughboy, are you a registered donor 💚🤔💙? We baked some cupcakes to celebrate National Donor Day AND Valentine's Day.

Since National Donor Day is on February 14, we can celebrate how love connects all forms of donation. It's not just about organ, eye, and tissue, but blood and bone marrow too!

We're proud of another record year at LifeShare Carolinas, but we're even prouder of the impact donation has on the families of our organ, tissue, and eye donors 💙💚

It's well known how donation saves and changes the lives of the recipients. But not everyone knows how it can often help in a family's grief journey. We asked a few of our families to share how their loved ones' donation impacted them.

Ricky was a quiet soul on the outside but would open up when he felt a connection with someone. His sister said he was a good friend and loved to talk about music and sports. Ricky was dedicated to freestyle BMX riding.

In his spare time, he loved watching NASCAR and cheering on his hometown sports teams. He also enjoyed tinkering with his prized possessions and listening to music and discovering new bands.

Ricky gave 1 person the gift of sight through eye donation. He also will impact 61 lives through the donation of his tissue.

For the families of our heart donors, hearing their loved one's heartbeat again is a moment like no other. And being able to provide that moment can mean everything to heart recipients 💚🫀💙

In honor of National Heart Month, we wanted to share photos from a few of these meetings we've been privileged enough to witness.

In his spare time, Bob loved walking his dogs at the Arboretum. He also loved eating great sushi and pizza.

Bob gave 1 person the gift of sight through eye donation and he will impact 30 lives through the donation of his tissue. If you’d like us to highlight your donor hero, you can nominate them at LifeShareCarolinas.org/Donor-Families/Honoring-Donors/

Ken is remembered as a loving husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather. His wife told us how generous he was, giving everything he had to the people he loved. Ken took pride in the work he did building roads as an asphalt worker. It was like a craft to him. The people in Ken’s life say he was an excellent friend and protector. His wife put it best, “His legacy is not just in what he did, but in how he made others feel— safe, loved, and valued.”

In his spare time, Ken loved riding his motorcycle, saying it gave him peace. He also enjoyed cars, fishing, and going to the beach.

Ken gave 2 people the gift of sight through his cornea donation and will impact 38 lives through tissue donation. If you’d like us to highlight your donor hero, you can nominate them at LifeShareCarolinas.org/Donor-Families/Honoring-Donors/

Hal was very artistic. He loved to draw and paint and was a self-taught musician who built several guitars by hand. His wife, Kimberly, told us he was generous and caring, he had a great sense of humor and a relentless work ethic.

Days spent with family, including his two dogs, were his favorite. Hal is remembered as a loving and devoted father, husband, and son.

Hal saved 2 lives through organ donation, and his heart valves will impact the lives of 2 others. If you’d like us to highlight your donor hero, you can nominate them at LifeShareCarolinas.org/Donor-Families/Honoring-Donors/
