Jackie Garcia is Therapist of the Month at Cano Family Services for October 2025!! Along with several other responsibilities, Jackie provides clinical supervision and takes a lead in program development. Here is a little bit she shared about herself: “My therapy style is grounded in a person-centered approach, where empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard guide the process. With children, I utilize child-centered play therapy to create a safe and expressive environment where healing happens through creativity and connection. With adolescents and adults, I blend reflective listening with strengths-based interventions, allowing clients to lead their own growth while I gently support insight, resilience, and empowerment. Whether through play or conversation, my goal is always to honor the individuality of each person and meet them exactly where they are.”

Camilla Luppi is Therapist of the Month at Cano Family Services for the month of September 2025!! Here’s a little bit that she shared about herself:

“I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist. I primarily work with children under 12, though I also support teens and young adults. I recently obtained a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy from UNC Charlotte. I am passionate about child-centered play therapy and love incorporating nature, art, movement, and play into each child’s healing journey. As an immigrant myself, I also have a passion for supporting Latino children and families, providing care that is both culturally responsive and affirming. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where every child feels seen, heard, and understood, so they can navigate life’s challenges with confidence and hope.”

We love The Community Free Clinic of Cabarrus County!!

Our Executive Director Penny Aronson was on Charlotte Today this morning with to talk about the Clinic and the impact from this grant, which provided 5 new laptops, IT mentoring for a year, and an IT strategic plan from . This IT refresh has helped us be more efficient and effective so we can see more patients with the resources we have.
