CPR saves lives….
You’ve heard it before, but do you really know why and how cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR, actually saves lives? Do you know the impact that CPR has on children?
You might not have known that about 92,000 people are saved by CPR each year. The cause of these accidental injuries in children and infants are primarily from unintentional choking and drowning. CPR is an essential skill to know in order to prevent an accidental injury in your home.

Essentially, CPR is a combination of chest compressions and rescue breaths (mouth-to-mouth resuscitation), which are intentionally timed in a manner to restore circulation of oxygenated blood to the brain and vital organs of a victim who is not breathing or has poor blood circulation. This prevents brain damage and unnecessary death, and gives the victim a fighting chance and additional time while emergency responders arrive.
