According to The National Cancer Institute, in 2025, roughly 2.0 million people were diagnosed with cancer in the United States.

So, how can men and women reduce their risk of cancer? Recommendations include:

🏃🏽‍♂️ Regular exercise
❤️ Maintaining a healthy weight
🥗 Eating healthy foods
🚭 Quitting or never starting smoking
🍺 Limiting alcohol use

The C.W. Williams Community Health Center proudly honors Dr. Robert Tanner Freeman, the first Black dentist in America.

In 1869, Dr. Freeman broke barriers by becoming the first African American to earn a dental degree in the United States. His achievement opened doors for generations of oral health professionals and advanced representation in healthcare.

As part of our Black History Month observance, C.W. Williams Community Health Center is proud to spotlight Dr. Ida Gray Nelson Rollins, the first Black woman dentist in America.

Dr. Rollins was a true pioneer in oral health. At a time when opportunities for Black women in healthcare were extremely limited, she provided compassionate, quality dental care to underserved communities and helped pave the way for future generations.

Her leadership, resilience, and commitment to service continue to inspire healthcare professionals across the nation.
