November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month — a reminder that awareness and action save lives.

Lung cancer doesn’t just affect smokers. Factors like secondhand smoke, air pollution, and family history also increase risk.
But here’s the good news: early screening can catch it when it’s most treatable.

Your next step:
🫁 Schedule a checkup.
🚭 Avoid smoking or exposure to smoke.
🍎 Keep your lungs healthy with good nutrition and exercise.

Your breath is life — protect it.

Wellness Wednesday: Thanksgiving Edition

Let’s be honest — Thanksgiving isn’t the day for counting calories… but it can be a day for balance.

Here’s how to enjoy the feast without feeling like you need a week to recover:

🍽️ Start small — you can always go back for more
🥗 Add veggies to your plate (color = nutrients!)
💧 Sip water before your meal — it helps digestion
🚶🏽‍♀️ Take a light walk after dinner
🧡 Savor the food and the company

Thanksgiving should fill your heart, not just your plate.

When your doctor says, “Let’s run some blood work,” it’s not just routine — it’s a window into your health.

Here’s what those tests are really checking for 👇

🔹 CBC (Complete Blood Count): Measures red and white blood cells — helps detect anemia, infections, or even immune disorders.
🔹 Lipid Panel: Checks cholesterol and triglycerides — key for understanding your heart health.
🔹 Blood Sugar (Glucose Test): Monitors how your body handles sugar — important for diabetes prevention.
🔹 Liver & Kidney Function Tests: Make sure your body’s filters are working properly.
🔹 Thyroid Test: Tracks hormones that control your metabolism and energy levels.

Think of it this way: blood tests don’t just find problems — they help prevent them.
Regular testing can catch early signs of conditions before symptoms show.

💬 When was your last checkup? It might be time to schedule one.

World Diabetes Day reminds us: awareness is the first step toward prevention.

Diabetes often hides in plain sight — showing subtle signs like frequent thirst, fatigue, or slow healing. But with early testing and lifestyle changes, it can be managed and even prevented.

Here’s how to start:
🥗 Choose whole, balanced meals.
🏃 Stay active daily.
💉 Get tested regularly — especially if you have a family history.

Your health is in your hands. Let’s make every choice count.

In healthcare, the barriers to access are just as real as the medical issues we treat.
