Sensations Memory Care Residence is located in the heart of Charlotte. Our quiet, small-town setting is the perfect place, with its homey atmosphere and friendly neighborhoods, for our residents to experience the benefits of our memory care program, Sensory Stimulation—thus our name “Sensations.”

Each of our design elements, from our family-friendly indoor park and attractive resident rooms to our outdoor courtyards and antique gardens, has been created to help residents overcome the challenges of living with memory loss and enhance their capabilities. the best times are shared around the dinner table. That’s why we’ve created several cozy dining rooms that allow our residents to experience the joy of dining, regardless of his or her level of cognitive or physical ability. Our staff-to-resident ratio allows each resident time to dine
unhurried, and as independently as possible. We know Care that allows residents to live with dignity translates into peace of mind for their families. And that an environment that provides safety, security, comfort, understanding—and love—is equally important. WE PROVIDE STATE OF THE HEART CARE. It's not just the daily assistance, or the cues our caregivers give, nor is it the meals served in style, or those actions we smile at and forgive. These things are important for certain, and are found at Sensations, it's true, but real care's in the laughter and touches, and memories created anew. We understand the anxiety behind the decision to move a loved one away from home because our family has had to do just that. When our mother developed Alzheimer's disease, we needed a nice place she could call "home." A place where she would be safe--and loved. Our family has worked in senior care for several years. We know that meeting the needs of our residents with a professional yet loving touch is how we meet the needs of their families, too. After 75 years combined experience in independent and assisted living, in addition to 15 years exclusively in memory care, we are excited about bringing State of the Heart memory care to Charlotte, Michigan, for the purpose of helping individuals who are suffering with Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. And in so doing, helping their families, too. We believe that care must be given with dignity, regardless of one's level of ability. Our program, called "Sensory Stimulation"--thus our name "Sensations"--was developed to provide residents every opportunity to enjoy the quality of life they deserve, by keeping them involved in life and providing them with opportunities to use their five senses to stimulate pleasant moments. We believe that tasty meals and gracious service are important. That's why we've created several nicely appointed dining rooms, each with a cozy atmosphere and pleasant, well-trained servers who offer residents the opportunity for a "joy of dining" experience at every meal. Just like we all enjoy! Just like the programs and good food at Sensations, our warm, home-like environment and inviting decor has been created for the content-ment of our residents. And for their families' peace of mind, safety, security and comfort have been taken into consideration in every design element of our building and site. We understand that nature is God's handiwork. Staying in touch with its beauty is just one way to stimulate the senses and help keep individuals with memory loss functioning at their highest possible level. This is the reason we have put so much thought into our gardens, courtyards, and walkways, where friends and families are always welcome.
