Rock your socks for inclusion! 🧦💙

Today we celebrate differences, kindness, and the beauty of every unique mind. On Rock Your Socks Day, we’re raising awareness for individuals with Down syndrome and spreading a little extra love and acceptance.

Looking for ways to talk with your children about Down syndrome? Here are a few simple tips:
• Keep it simple & honest – Explain that some people are born with an extra chromosome, which can make them learn and grow differently. Point out other things that make everyone unique.
• Highlight similarities – Talk about shared interests like playing, laughing, and making friends.
• Use respectful language – Model kindness and acceptance in how you speak.
• Encourage questions – Let your child be curious and answer openly.
• Teach inclusion – Model ways to include individuals with disabilities! Point out things that can be done to make their world (school, playground, grocery store) more accessible for all.

Wear your brightest, boldest, most mismatched socks and start a conversation—because everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. 💛
