🌵Joshua Tree is more than just a park; it’s a lifestyle, and one with lots and lots of rocks – all with a great story.

This area of California is known as the “High Desert,” where I spent a week with my darling bear cubs (wild children) and partner. It’s located 2.5 hours east of LA and is absolutely worth a visit the next time you’re in Southern California.

Sarah and Rich Combs () wrote a lovely book called ‘At Home in Joshua Tree’ that I stumbled upon (…and immediately purchased) while I was there, and they put it best: “The high desert has a magnetic core at its center that gives many people a strong, unexplained desire to be in this place.” I can fully attest to this statement, and I will tell you that once you’ve had a taste of it, you’ll find yourself completely captivated and wanting more.

And speaking of a magnetic core, I’m going to walk you through a touch more on this from a geological perspective. Over the next five posts, I’m going to share with you my version of ✨5 Essentials of Why Joshua Tree…literally, Rocks✨. These are my version of “essentials” – a few reasons for your questions of “WHY IS IT SO COOL LOOKING THERE?”. This focus will be on why Joshua Tree is as gorgeous as it is.

Gems, you know that I love rocks, and what I want for you in this segment of storytelling is to be inspired to visit Joshua Tree. I want to enhance your level of “awe” that you experience when you are around the absolutely gigantic and amazing rock formations/landscape that are SO unique for so many reasons, by filling you with a bit of knowledge. I want you to go there and be present in your state of “awe”. In that state, you’re close to enlightenment, and there you can tap into your soul’s well of authentic vibration.

I promise I won’t make you realize why you chose to read your favorite magazine behind your text book in the back of Earth Science class in High School. These are all topics that light me up and I want to share with you.

Happy Valentines, Gems!

My take on this holiday (that I love…maybe it’s all the red!) is this: you make it what you want!

Buy yourself flowers, buy yourself the jewelry, make your cake, enjoy the tiny little things, romanticize your latte…

Spread your love in anyway you can.

But Ill say this too:

It’s *crucial* that you communicate how you want to be loved. Subtle communication gets no one anywhere. If they don’t know you want the jewelry, they won’t know you want the jewelry. Forget the idea that your subtle hints are going to land on their radar clearly.

We don’t hint at what we want.

Instead of saying “I love her jewelry line”, you say, “I would like for you to buy this necklace & surprise me with it, here is the link”.

Communicate it clearly. Like you’re taking your a 5th grader. Tell them it’ll mean something that THEY buy it for you.

I’m speaking from experience on both accounts, trust me & try it.
