Our JREC Hillsdale members have been busy creating artwork that is meaningful to each artist. We’re excited to share that some members have graciously allowed us to showcase their work in a pop‑up gallery located in the Hillsdale lobby entryway.

Art gives us a space to express ourselves freely and that spirit shines through in every piece. When you stop by, take a moment to notice the artists’ choices and reflect on how each piece makes you feel. You might just find a connection through shared emotion.

Our amazing JMU nursing students created heart art with participants, danced to midday tunes, and led a spirited round of Softee Polo this afternoon. The room was filled with laughter, movement, music, and meaningful connection.

JREC has medical support from CNAs, med techs, and staff to care for daily health tasks. CNAs assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and report changes for timely and effective medical interventions. Med techs and staff help by monitoring vitals, maintaining hygiene, and creating a safe and healthy environment. Together, they form a team that addresses needs, promoting quality of life and independence. JABA’s Respite & Enrichment Centers provide adults living with disabilities or adults who are in the early stages of dementia an inclusive community for engagement, friendships, and growth so they can age in place. JREC can delay or prevent the need for assisted living or nursing home care, allowing veterans to stay in their homes longer.

The VA may provide FREE services to qualifying veterans. Contact your local VA Clinic to learn more.

Winter Fun & Friendly Rivalries at JREC Hillsdale! ❄️

We’ve had a busy, laughter-filled day celebrating Snow Sculpture Week! From getting creative with a "make your own snow" sensory activity to some high-stakes competition, there’s never a dull moment here.

The Scrabble Showdown: To no one’s surprise, our reigning Word Game Queen took home the trophy again! 👑🔠 Better luck next time to the challenger!

The Great Stacker Challenge: John and Tom went head-to-head to see who could build the ultimate tower. The focus was intense! 🏗️
