Happy International Women's Day! 🌟 Today we celebrate the woman who started it all — Peggy, founder of Service Dogs of Virginia. Since 2000, she has placed over 130 life-changing dogs and she's still as dedicated as ever, getting right on the ground for every training session. What started in her garage has grown into something truly extraordinary — all because of her passion and heart. Thank you, Peggy! 🐾

SDV is looking for Puppy Raisers and Night/Weekend Volunteers to help change lives.

Puppy Raisers welcome a future service dog into their home for about a year, teaching basic manners and socialization with support from SDV trainers.

Night/Weekend Volunteers care for dogs in advanced training during evenings, weekends, and holidays, and help transport them to our facility for weekday training.

Volunteers are the heart of our mission, and every hour you give helps train life-changing service dogs for individuals living with disabilities.
