Where are you from? My family is originally from Malaysia, but I was born in the Philippines. We moved to Northern Virginia when I was almost 4 years old, and I became a U.S. citizen when I was 18.

Today we were honored (and a bit teary!) to celebrate Lori Wood as she retires from Region Ten after 35 years of dedicated service. Lori has been a steady, compassionate presence at Region Ten, touching countless lives across our community. Her commitment to helping others, uplifting colleagues, and embodying our mission has made a lasting impact that cannot be measured. Please join us in thanking and congratulating Lori on 35 remarkable years! We are deeply grateful for all she has given to our community and wishing her the best in this next chapter!

This week, Region Ten staff and leaders had the opportunity to participate in impactful leadership training with Rick Griffin of the Community Resilience Initiative! Through sessions like The Neuroscience of Effective Leadership, our supervisors and managers explored how understanding the brain’s response to stress, feedback, and connection can strengthen trust, boost performance, and create more supportive work environments. We’re grateful for the opportunity to invest in our team and continue building a culture of resilience, collaboration, and compassionate care for those we serve.
