The word Rei meaning universal and Ki meaning vital energy. We are all healers, but what makes Reiki unique is the lineage. Reiki was founded by Dr. Mikao Usui who lived in Japan, 1865-1926. He founded the teachings of Reiki. The stresses of daily life can affect us all. The world is filled with things that drain our energy. Any emotional stress can become a blockage. Physical pain or sadness will also find a place to take root in the body. The idea of Reiki is to balance the body, remove blockages and allow healing energy to fill the space. By letting Reiki energy in, we are cleansing ourselves of any build-up of excess physical or emotional trauma. I have been doing Reiki for several years. I first took a class because I was curious about how energy healing worked and wanted to heal from an illness. I went on to study and complete all levels of Reiki and am now a certified Reiki Master/Teacher.
