New Birth Wellness Center is now accepting clients into care for our North Mankato Birth Center with due dates of June 1, 2026 or later 🤍
Your care with us can begin right away! While our North Mankato spaces still in the build-out phase, prenatal visits will take place at our current clinic space in Mankato until we're able to move into our new home in upper North Mankato.
We provide complete, full-scope midwifery care, so your prenatal care can happen all in one place, with a team that truly knows you and walks with you throughout pregnancy, birth and the postpartum.
The first step is joining one of our free, no-commitment orientation sessions. We'll share what care with us is like, walk through insurance coverage, and leave plenty of time for questions - no pressure, just conversation.

Our business office and clinic will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day while our team eats cookies, naps, and pretends we don't know what day it is.
Don't worry though - babies do not respect holidays, so our team is still on call and ready to catch any festive arrivals.

We’ve been growing something new… and it's finally time to share the news!
New Birth Midwifery is overjoyed to announce that we are opening a birth center in North Mankato — a space inspired by the southern Minnesota prairie wildflowers, strong roots, and the beauty of community birth.
We’re now welcoming families with due dates of June 1, 2026 and beyond.
In this new home, you’ll find:
- Community-centered birth
- Peaceful, evidence-based waterbirth
- Full-scope, relationship-driven midwifery care
As we transform this space over the winter months, we’d love for you to follow along and join the journey. From design choices to behind-the-scenes build-out moments, we can’t wait to share each step as this new chapter blossoms.

🍂 Thanksgiving Hours Update 🦃
Our clinic and business office will be closed this Thursday and Friday so our team can enjoy the holiday with loved ones. We'll reopen and resume normal hours on Monday.
But don't worry - babies don't take holidays!
The Birth Center remains open, and our midwives and birth team are on call and ready to lovingly welcome any little ones who decide on a Thanksgiving arrival 🦃👶🧡

We had such an amazing time at our Annual New Birth Family Picnic yesterday - our biggest turnout yet!
So many sweet faces, warm hugs, happy kiddos, and belly laughs.
From bouncy house giggles to wagon rides, unicycle riding and sword juggling, to ice cream sundaes and BBQ; every moment was filled with joy, connection and community.
It means the world to see our New Birth families - past and present- gather together like this. We're already dreaming about next year.

The Story

New Birth Midwifery is passionate about moms, babies and providing great care to expectant families. We provide home birth services with a 60 minute radius of Chanhassen, concentrating on the SW Metro. We encourage the use of water in labor and birth and provide professional grade birthing pools for just that purpose or help families purchase their own. We are happy to help VBAC moms, breech babies and twins along with first time moms, or moms that have had lots of babies. We love to talk about pregnancy and birth and what a home birth can look like and provide free consultations to families looking at this as an option for their birth. It is proven to be a safe option for low risk women. We provide true informed consent allowing our families to make decisions for themselves regarding medications and labs in routine care. We also provide them with many resources from the New Birth Midwifery library and handouts in a nice 3 ring binder to help them arrive at the best decision for themselves. The team consists of three midwives, Jennifer Hall, Sarah Barbosa and Jenny Gerfen. All are Certified Professional Midwives and attended MEAC accredited colleges. They all passed the NARM board exam. All are licensed in the state of MN and Jenny is also licensed in WI.
