This past week has been full of baby magic - our team got to welcome 11 new little humans into the world!
Highlight moment? Midwife Krys and her team braved a full-on March blizzard on Sunday to attend a gorgeous homebirth. Snow, wind, and chaos? No problem - they showed up with calm, skill, and hearts full of love. Not even our crazy Minnesota weather can stop birth magic!
We're so thankful to do this work with such an amazing team and the incredible families who trust us. Welcome, babies - you're surrounded by so much love!

At New Birth midwifery, we have multiple positions open, and we just added a new one to our website: Receptionist!
This is a temporary position at this time; ideal for someone who is warm, organized, detail oriented, and loves supporting families during pregnancy and postpartum. Our receptionist is often the very first voice and face our clients connect with, setting the tone for their entire experience - so we're looking for someone who brings both professionalism and heart to the role.

Every stat in this post represents a family who trusted us, a baby welcomed with intention, and a team that showed up with skill, steadiness, and heart. New Birth Wellness Center is now accepting clients into care for our North Mankato Birth Center with due dates of June 1, 2026 or later 🤍
Your care with us can begin right away! While our North Mankato spaces still in the build-out phase, prenatal visits will take place at our current clinic space in Mankato until we're able to move into our new home in upper North Mankato.
We provide complete, full-scope midwifery care, so your prenatal care can happen all in one place, with a team that truly knows you and walks with you throughout pregnancy, birth and the postpartum.
The first step is joining one of our free, no-commitment orientation sessions. We'll share what care with us is like, walk through insurance coverage, and leave plenty of time for questions - no pressure, just conversation.

Our business office and clinic will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day while our team eats cookies, naps, and pretends we don't know what day it is.
Don't worry though - babies do not respect holidays, so our team is still on call and ready to catch any festive arrivals.

The Story

New Birth Midwifery is passionate about moms, babies and providing great care to expectant families. We provide home birth services with a 60 minute radius of Chanhassen, concentrating on the SW Metro. We encourage the use of water in labor and birth and provide professional grade birthing pools for just that purpose or help families purchase their own. We are happy to help VBAC moms, breech babies and twins along with first time moms, or moms that have had lots of babies. We love to talk about pregnancy and birth and what a home birth can look like and provide free consultations to families looking at this as an option for their birth. It is proven to be a safe option for low risk women. We provide true informed consent allowing our families to make decisions for themselves regarding medications and labs in routine care. We also provide them with many resources from the New Birth Midwifery library and handouts in a nice 3 ring binder to help them arrive at the best decision for themselves. The team consists of three midwives, Jennifer Hall, Sarah Barbosa and Jenny Gerfen. All are Certified Professional Midwives and attended MEAC accredited colleges. They all passed the NARM board exam. All are licensed in the state of MN and Jenny is also licensed in WI.
