We have 11 beautiful kitties visiting Dr. Geyer this morning for their initial checkup and vetting! 😺🩺 What a way to spend a Saturday—surrounded by tiny chaos gremlins with whiskers! 😂☀️💛
We’re hoping these sweet babies get glowing reports so they can charm their way into rescue ASAP and strut right out of the animal shelter. 🐾🏡💕
🐾 These little paws are ready for new beginnings… and probably second breakfast. 😸

Update: The pantry is open today, but will be closed tomorrow. It is for residents of Danville and Pittsylvania County. It is located in the Danville public animal shelter at 996 South Boston Road in the Public Works Compound. Names and addresses are taken, but are not shared with anyone; officers do NOT do welfare checks.

Our Mary Dean Pet Food Pantry is open 12-5 Monday through Friday. Food may be picked up once a month. We have bags of dry dog and cat food available. The picture does not show the entire supply; our shelves aren’t bare!

The Henry County Animal Shelter is requesting donations to help prepare a special Thanksgiving meal for the animals in its care.

Items needed include canned carrots, canned green beans, canned pure pumpkin (not pie filling), rice, small paper bowls, canned chicken, and turkeys.

Donations may be dropped off at 140 Jack Dalton Road, Martinsville.

Shelter staff say the contributions will help make the holiday a little brighter for local pets awaiting adoption.
