Kitten season is here and we want to remind all that one female cat can produce 15 to 30 kittens in one year. These kittens are a litter of 6 belonging to a feral cat we are keeping til weaned. Please make an appointment to have your cats spayed / neutered. There are programs to help cut the costs and reduce overpopulation and animal suffering . Call cherrystone or your veterinarian or one of the local shelters for options.

Thanks to grant funding from the Danville Area Humane Society, we are able to offer low cost spay and neuter surgeries for eligible clients.
Eligible clients must be residents of Danville or Pittsylvania County and show proof of lower income status at check-in. Some examples include EBT, Medicaid, Medicare or Social Security.
Cats and dogs must be less than 7 years old and healthy. Female dogs must weigh less than 60 pounds and not be in heat, pregnant or nursing.
A $20 deposit is required when the surgery is scheduled, and a $20 medication fee is due the day of the surgery. A $15 Elizabethan collar is recommended for healing. The Elizabethan collar helps protect your pet’s incision during the 2 week healing process and is strongly encouraged for their safety.
