I am always looking for tools to pass on to my students and friends. I AM LOVING THIS APP! Sam Harris does such a great job alternating between lessons and meditation practice and explaining the how and why of understanding what consciousness is...If you have ever wondered about Mindfulness Meditation or are a long time practitioner, I recommend giving Waking Up a try.

I am settling in for my daily meditation and I must recommend the Waking Up App by Sam Harris.
Here is an excerpt from today’s lesson on The Social Self:

“Almost everyone you meet is drowning in self concern. Just look at them. Just listen to them. They are broadcasting their own self doubt and anxiety and disappointment. They are worried about what others think of them. If you get out of yourself for a moment, if you can just take a step back from feeling implicated from what is happening around you, you will generally see that you are surrounded by a carnival of human frailty...This brief life together is a beautiful miracle.”
