Body sculpting is a lot like looking at a bed 🛏️
Think about it like this:
✅ The bed frame = your natural body structure
✅ The mattress = the deep fat layer we remove with liposuction
✅ The down comforter = your skin + the fibrous layer right beneath it
When we perform liposuction, we target the “mattress” layer, this is where the bulk of stubborn fat lives and where we can safely contour to shape your waist, abdomen, back, and more.
The “down comforter” (your skin + its fibrous layer) has some fat too, but it’s meant to stay. This is healthy, structural fat that gives the skin smoothness and natural softness. Removing too much from this layer can create dents, rippling, or irregularities, which is why good surgeons avoid it unless absolutely necessary and performed with very precise techniques.
You can bunch up a down comforter and it may look thicker or fuller, but once it smooths out, the true shape shows. The same happens with the skin after swelling resolves. This is why technique, patience, and proper healing matter so much.
A skilled liposuction surgeon knows exactly which fat to remove, which fat to preserve, and how to sculpt the body without compromising skin quality. This is the key to smooth, natural, long-lasting body contouring results. 💫
