Our Story
Therapy Direct is a prospective Physical Medicine Manager specializing the Workers’ Compensation. Our focus is to deliver a proprietary outcomes based network highlighting functional improvement and sustained return to work that consistently outperforms industry guidelines. Our approach with clinics is to form a strategic relationship focusing on best in class care and prompt return to work.
Therapy Direct, owned by Upstream Rehabilitation, is a sister company of Benchmark Rehabilitation, Drayer, IRG and Preferred Therapy Providers. All companies operate in the physical therapy industry providing significant financial and clinical resources to our organization. Upstream, based in Birmingham, AL is now the 4th largest rehabilitation organization in the nation.
Our core business model is focused on functional improvement, sustained return to work and outcomes. The service model is centered on providing excellent customer service to our clients while reducing their administrative claims handling expense. We have the flexibility to customize service delivery to meet client requirements.
Therapy Direct utilizes system tools for measurement and benchmarking. The tools are applied at the individual referral and treatment level. Our primary measurements include WCRI benchmarks and ODG guidelines. These measurements and guidelines are built into reporting by ICD10 coding, enabling comparison of actual to expected results. These results are used to monitor progress on an individual claims, to report on a customer and program level and as triggers for actionable review by peer and advisory clinicians, or as a cautionary flag to clinicians and claims handlers.
