Dr. Lackey and Dr. Thompson attended the SCI Scleral Lens Bootcamp in Nashville this past weekend!

Scleral contact lenses are specialty gas permeable lenses designed to vault the cornea. They are an excellent option for patients with keratoconus, corneal irregularities and opacities, corneal transplants, severe dry eye, and high astigmatism. These lenses provide superior vision correction and comfort for patients with corneal pathology.

Our doctors spent the weekend with some of the leaders in the industry, learning about the latest technology and refining their fitting skills. They look forward to applying all they learned to maximize visual potential and comfort for our scleral lens patients!

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT ✨

Hannah has been working in eye care for 10 years and has spent the last 4 years with us at Lackey Family Eye Care. As a scribe and technician, Hannah loves being a part of providing life-changing vision care. She especially loves to assist with scleral lens fittings for keratoconus patients.

Outside of work, Hannah enjoys spending time with her husband, Grant, and their dog, Hazel. She loves lake days, traveling, and thrift shopping, all fueled by diet Coke!

Fun Fact: Hannah is truly an eye nerd. She loves learning about eyes, buying anything with eyes on it, and entertaining her family members with interesting eye facts.

We’re so lucky to have Hannah here at Lackey Family Eye Care, and we know you love her as much as we do!

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT✨

Molly has worked at Lackey Family Eye Care for the past 5 years. She is truly a jack of all trades – helping at the front desk, working in billing, and assisting the doctors when needed. Molly’s favorite aspect of working at Lackey Family Eye Care is the family environment.

When she’s not at work, Molly spends time outside and enjoys camping with her family. She also takes an annual trip to Disney, which is always a highlight of the year. Molly got married last September and is the proud aunt of one nephew and two nieces.

Molly keeps our office running smoothly and we’re so thankful for all she does!

Today is Priscilla’s last day with Amy Lackey Family Eye Care, and we couldn’t have asked for a better optician. We are so thankful that she has shared her skills and expertise with us over the last four years. She is moving to south Georgia to be closer to family and will truly be missed.

Meet Dr. Thompson!

Dr. Paige Thompson joined Amy Lackey Family Eye Care in September 2024. She brings 9 years of experience in medical optometry with a focus on pre-and post-operative surgical care, neuro-optometry, and oculoplastics.

Dr. Thompson graduated from Syracuse University in 2011. She then attended Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she graduated as valedictorian of her class in 2016. Following optometry school, Dr. Thompson completed a residency in ocular disease at SouthEast Eye Specialists in Chattanooga, TN.

Outside of work, Dr. Thompson is married with three young children. She enjoys hiking and spending time at the lake with her family. She is also an avid runner and is working towards running the seven World Marathon Majors.

Dr. Thompson is excited to bring her experience to Amy Lackey Family Eye Care. She looks forward to providing comprehensive eye care services and establishing lasting relationships with her patients.
