April is National Stress Awareness Month, and it’s important to remember that stress doesn’t just affect adults. Even our little ones can experience stress in ways that may not always be obvious.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), children often show stress through behavior changes, like irritability, sleep disruptions, clinginess, or even physical symptoms like headaches and stomachaches.

The good news? There are simple, powerful ways to support them:
💛 Keep daily routines consistent
💛 Create a safe space for them to talk and feel heard
💛 Offer reassurance and physical comfort
💛 Make time for play, rest, and connection
💛 Model calm, healthy ways to handle stress

Helping children feel safe, seen, and supported makes all the difference.

If you ever have concerns about your child’s emotional or physical well-being, we’re here for you. 💛

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), foods such as hot dogs, whole grapes, popcorn, hard candy, chunks of nut butter, marshmallows, nuts, and large pieces of meat or cheese can be choking hazards for young children.

To help reduce risk:
• Cut foods like grapes and hot dogs into small, lengthwise pieces
• Avoid hard, round, sticky, or large chunks of food
• Always supervise young children while they’re eating
• Make sure children are seated (not running or playing) during meals and snacks

Small changes can make a big difference in keeping mealtime safe.

If you have questions about age-appropriate feeding or food safety, we’re here to help. 💛

Raw milk is milk that has not been pasteurized. Raw milk can contain harmful bacteria, such as Campylobacter, Salmonella, E. coli and Listeria, that can make people, especially young children and pregnant people, very sick. Raw milk is not safe to drink. Pasteurization is a process that heats milk to a specific temperature to kill harmful bacteria and does not affect the nutritional content of the milk.

Bedtime doesn’t have to be a nightly wrestling match. The AAP’s Brush, Book, Bed routine is simple on purpose. Kids thrive when they know what’s coming next.

🪥 BRUSH: Little kids still need an adult to help them brush well. When possible, teach them to spit, but skip rinsing with water—a little toothpaste left behind helps protect teeth and prevent decay. And once teeth touch, it’s time to floss. Pro tip: the last thing to touch teeth before bed should be the toothbrush.

📚 BOOK: After brushing, cuddle up and read together, even 15 minutes a day supports language development and social-emotional skills. Make it fun: silly voices, songs, or even making up your own stories counts.

🌙 BED: Sleep is huge for health, and good sleep habits can start from birth. Keep the steps predictable and the bedtime consistent. If your child is melting down at bedtime, try moving bedtime 15–20 minutes earlier (overtired kids fight sleep like it’s their job).

Want help building a routine that actually sticks? We’ve got you. 💛

Repost from

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends children receive the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine at age 12-15 months, and again at 4-6 years. However, with measles cases on the rise, parents may have questions about early vaccination. If your child is exposed to measles, lives in an outbreak area, or is traveling internationally, your pediatrician may recommend early vaccination.

Parents, if you’re considering early measles vaccination for your child, reach out to your pediatrician. They can help you make the best decisions to keep your child healthy.

Kids get a LOT of colds, especially in the early years, and most are annoying but normal. 🤧💛 The American Academy of Pediatrics notes that common cold symptoms can include a runny nose (often starting clear, later thicker/colored), sneezing, cough, sore throat, and a low fever, and most typical colds improve gradually in 7–10 days.

Call us right away if your baby is 3 months or younger and shows any signs of illness. And for older babies/kids, reach out if you notice breathing trouble (fast breathing, retractions), blue lips/nails, fever over 102°F, ear pain, or symptoms that just won’t quit.
We’re here to help your little one feel better. 💛
