Our client worked as a dentist and lost the tip of a finger on his dominant hand following an accident. Although Metropolitan Life Insurance Company initially approved the benefits, the insurer later denied the claim, arguing that he could return to work.
Through a detailed appeal and updated evidence, our team showed that he could not safely perform the duties of his occupation. MetLife ultimately approved the claim.

Attorney Kaci and Paralegal Aya secured long term disability benefits for our client after Unum denied her claim.
Our client, a Chief Clinical Officer, had to stop working because of severe back pain, numbness, and difficulty using her hands. Even after back surgery, she did not improve enough to return to work. Despite strong medical evidence and supportive physician statements, Unum denied her claim. We filed suit, and the court awarded her the benefits she deserved.

This past Friday, some of our team spent the morning volunteering at the Chattanooga Area Food Bank as part of the AAJ Trial Lawyers Care Fall Service Project.

Attorney Audrey and Paralegal Ren helped our client win continued long term disability benefits from Reliance Standard. Over the last eight years, the insurance company has sent her to three separate medical examinations in an effort to end her benefits. Each time we appealed and proved that her conditions have never improved.

Our team supported her claim with independent medical examinations, updated medical records, opinion forms from her treating providers, and pictures documenting her symptoms. All of this evidence showed that she has remained disabled since her date of disability, and Reliance Standard approved her benefits again.
