Attorney Noah and Paralegal Ren secured long term disability benefits and life waiver of premium benefits from Unum Life Insurance Company of America after an initial denial. Unum denied the claim by taking the position that the client was not disabled under the policy.
The client suffers from post-concussion syndrome and POTS, which caused disabling symptoms that prevented the client from continuing to work.
On appeal, our team submitted evidence showing the severity of the client’s conditions and how those symptoms limited the client’s ability to work.
Based on that evidence, Unum reversed its denial and approved both long term disability benefits and life waiver of premium benefits.
