When taking a moment to reflect on our "Why's" in the New Year, the AFC Chattanooga team all mentioned just about the same thing!

We show up every single day being the best version of ourselves, so our patients can get the best care. We believe our patients are family - and being compassionate, relatable, and putting a smile on someone's face during a hard time is something we all look forward to everyday. ❤️

Our X-ray technician, Kayla, stated: "I was drawn to radiology because it is truly the eyes of medicine! Guided by my faith, I strive to serve patients with a servant's heart. Helping reveal what cannot be seen while also caring for patients, makes this career everything I could've dreamed of!"

A few of our hobbies and "Do more of's" for 2026 include; traveling, spending more time with our loved ones, reading a good book or drawing to relax, and continuing to learn and grow not only as individuals but as a team too. ✈️📖❤️

AFC will be closing at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will be completely closed on Christmas Day. But if you need us, we'll return to our normal hours, ready to provide you with the same friendly care, starting Dec. 26. ❤️

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) is very common in young children and can cause more serious symptoms in the youngest age groups.

Children can catch RSV at any age, but the highest risk for significant symptoms is in:
• Infants and toddlers under 2 years old
• Babies under 6 months, who may have more trouble breathing or feeding
• Children with asthma, chronic lung conditions, or weakened immune systems

Common RSV Symptoms in Children:
• Persistent cough
• Wheezing or noisy breathing
• Fast or labored breathing
• Fever
• Runny nose or congestion
• Decreased appetite
• Irritability or trouble sleeping
• In infants: pauses in breathing, lethargy, or difficulty feeding

Because RSV spreads easily through coughs, sneezes, shared toys, and surfaces, outbreaks in daycares and schools are common.

If your child is struggling to breathe, has a worsening cough, signs of dehydration, or severe symptoms, AFC is here to help.
