Mindfulness gets a bad reputation. People think it means emptying your thoughts or sitting in perfect silence. It doesn't. It just means paying attention to right now, on purpose, without judging yourself for how you feel.

And here's why that matters for anxiety specifically: anxiety lives in the future. It's always asking "what if" and "what's next" and "what could go wrong." Mindfulness pulls you back to the present, where most of the time things are actually okay.

Even 5 minutes a day practiced consistently can physically change how your brain responds to stress over time. Not instantly. But genuinely, measurably, over weeks. Share it with someone who needs a moment of calm.

With over 11 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, I've had the honor of sitting with people through some of life's heaviest moments. Trauma. Grief. Addiction. Depression. Anger that has nowhere to go. Anxiety that won't let up.

My approach is trauma-focused and holistic, which means I don't just look at your symptoms in isolation. I look at the full picture. Your family. Your community. The systems around you. The adversity you've navigated. Because healing doesn't happen in a vacuum.

I use Trauma-Focused CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness practices. My goal is simple: help you experience less intense emotional reactions and live a more connected, fulfilling life.

Grief is not reserved for death. It's the natural response to any significant loss. Loss shows up in our lives in so many ways we don't always recognize or name.

The relationship that ended and took your sense of self with it. The diagnosis that rewrote your future. The childhood you deserved but didn't get. The dream that quietly stopped being possible. The person you used to be before life got heavy.

And if you've been carrying something heavy and not knowing what to call it. It might be grief, and has a way of showing up as anxiety, anger, numbness, and exhaustion that no amount of sleep can fix.

Trauma is not defined by what happened. It's defined by what it did to you on the inside.

Not just the big dramatic events the movies show. But the quiet kind too. The childhood where your feelings were dismissed. The relationship that left you not trusting yourself. The years of chronic stress that never really let up. The loss that changed everything.

And here's what makes it so tricky because so many people are walking around carrying it without even knowing that's what it is. They just think they're anxious. Or too sensitive. Or broken in some way that can't be fixed.

Your hypervigilance, your emotional numbness, your difficulty trusting people, your reactions that feel bigger than the moment and those aren't personality flaws. They are survival responses. Your nervous system is doing exactly what it learned to do to keep you safe.

The good news? Trauma is treatable. With the right support, whether that's EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, somatic therapy, or simply a safe space to finally say what happened, healing is genuinely possible.

Your shoulders are up by your ears right now, aren't they?

Most of us are walking around holding tension in our bodies without even realizing it. Tight jaw. Clenched stomach. Stiff neck. That's anxiety, stress, and trauma living in your muscles, and your body is exhausted from carrying it.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation(PMR) is one of the most effective coping tools we use in therapy. It takes about 10 minutes, requires zero equipment, and you can do it lying in your bed tonight.

Here's the simple version: Tense each muscle group for 5 seconds. Release for 10 seconds. Notice the difference. Move up your body slowly from feet to face.
