Sheriff’s Office donors capture the Blood Assurance Battle of the Badges

Blood donors contributed 40 units of blood for the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office to win Blood Assurance’s Murfreesboro Battle of the Badges Feb. 10.

Other results were:

• Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services – 39 units
• Murfreesboro Police Department – 37 units
• Rutherford County Fire Rescue Department – 21 units
• Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department Fire – 17 units

Account manager Renee Krenson of Blood Assurance said donors gave 157 units of blood, enough to help save up to 462 lives.

Blood donations represent trauma patients, surgery patients, cancer patients and neighbors in Rutherford County who may depend on these lifesaving donations.

The time, energy, leadership and enthusiasm first responders brought to this initiative did not go unnoticed, she said. Watching first responders unite for such a meaningful cause was both inspiring and powerful and it speaks volumes about the strength and compassion of this community.

“It was truly a close race, with every department demonstrating remarkable commitment, teamwork and heart,” Krenson said.
