Hi everyone, this is Debbie, Kayla’s mom.

Many of you know my daughter Kayla’s story. She was a vibrant, loving new mother who tragically passed away from Peripartum Cardiomyopathy, or PPCM, a heart condition that can develop during pregnancy or after giving birth. Her passing left a hole in our hearts, but it also lit a fire in our family to fight for change.

That’s why it means so much to me to share that Kayla is honored in the new LetsTalkPPCM Magazine, you can see her beautiful face and read her story on page 10.

This feature isn’t just about remembering Kayla. It’s about fighting for the living. Our family is on a mission to make BNP blood testing a standard part of maternal care, so other mothers can be diagnosed early and treated before it’s too late.

Every mom deserves a chance to raise her baby. Every family deserves the chance we didn’t get.
