One of the most common symptoms of osteoarthritis is severe pain that can result in loss of basic daily functions. In your affected joint you may experience stiffness, swelling, or tenderness. Symptoms from osteoarthritis can usually be managed, however the damage to the joint can’t be reversed.

My family and I are sadden by this news. Our love and prayers go out to all of the family and friends of Judy.

"We are saddened by the news that Judy Spiegel’s death has been confirmed. Like so many Chattanooga friends, we had hoped for a miracle and had continued to pray for Judy and the family.

During Kevin's tenure as CEO, Judy was a tireless advocate for Erlanger, our employees and our patients. From serving on the Believe Bash leadership team to her advocacy for the Arts at Erlanger program, her special touch was evident throughout the system - as was the love and devotion the Spiegels had for one another.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the entire Erlanger family, we send our condolences to the Spiegel family. May her memory be eternal and our gratitude everlasting."

— Linda Moss Mines, Chairman of the Board of Trustees & Dr. William Jackson, Erlanger President & CEO

Arthritis affects over 50 million adults in the U.S. There are many forms of arthritis, but one of the most common forms is osteoarthritis. If you are experiencing pain in your hip or knee it can be from the cushioning cartilage being worn down, making walking painful as the bone is rubbing against bone. Take time this month to learn more about joint health.
