Sulzer Pumps is focused on and committed to employee health and wellness supporting our wellness program initiative. Studies have shown that sitting for long periods of time can increase a person’s chance of developing heart disease and obesity. This has prompted the management team to recommend various workplace interventions to reduce the time employees spend sitting down, including sit-stand desks. Many employees have taken advantage of this option.

Our co-workers are very much like an extended family.

We spend most of our waking hours with them, forging special bonds of trust and friendship that are unlike our other relationships.

As a result, it's not surprising that a co-worker's death can be difficult to deal with — especially if you were close to the person or if the death was unexpected; and even if the co-worker's death came after a prolonged illness, you may still experience shock and depression when you hear the news.

Within the last few weeks we have lost 3 special people.

Although it is natural to feel the sadness and loss, please reflect for a moment…perhaps choose to remember:

Jerome’s wonderfully “Mischievous Smile”

Mike’s passion for “Tennessee Football”

Carl’s “Sense of Humor and Gentle Soul”

We will miss them, but think of how our lives have been enriched by our knowing them. We were very fortunate indeed.

A group of students from Tyner Academy visited Sulzer Pumps as part of the Hamilton County Department of Education Pathway to Prosperity Program. The students have career interests that include Welding, Engineering, and the Medical Field. Sulzer provided a presentation covering an introduction to Engineering and Pumps, as well as a history of Nuclear Energy in the US.
