April is Counseling Awareness Month and behind the scenes, every breakthrough, every moment of progress

At Focus, our counselors show up every day for people struggling with substance use and eating disorders. They sit in the hard moments, help make sense of the chaos, and guide people toward something more stable.

Counselors are often the first to see it when something isn’t improving,
when a patient is stuck, and
when it’s time to consider a different level of care.

That perspective really matters.

In substance use and eating disorder treatment, those insights can change the entire direction of someone’s recovery.

We see every day how important that role is not just in starting care, but in knowing when things need to shift.
