The people of Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation understand how a traumatic accident or illness can temporarily put someone on the sidelines.They also understand just as fully that patients don't have to stay there. Throughout the years, the staff has been privileged to look into the eyes of countless patients and watch helplessness turn into triumph, defeat into success, and the fear of "I can't" turn into the spirit of "I CAN!"

Thank you Fallon Howard NC9 and WTVC-TV NewsChannel 9 News for highlighting our Parkinson's Disease Support Group and how patients have the opportunity to participate in LSVT Big and Loud treatment through our outpatient clinics!

Our Parkinson's Disease Support Group meets every third Thursday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and is open to the public. We hope to see you there!

We love getting updates from our former patients, especially when they have accomplished a goal they set while working with us!

This time last year, Jamin Taibo was recovering from a traumatic motorcycle accident, originally non-weight bearing in three out of four limbs. On Sunday, March 30th, he ran in the Chattanooga Marathon Weekend's half marathon and has plans to race again in April. He credits much of his recovery to his incredible care team at Siskin Hospital and Siskin Outpatient Therapy. 🦾🦿

We are so thankful to have helped him turn hope into reality!

John "Skip" Steffner made a truly impressive recovery during his almost three-month long stay with Siskin Hospital and Siskin Subacute West!

A fall, which resulted in a brain injury, severely affected Skip's ability to swallow safely, leading to him relying on a feeding tube for almost six weeks. But his team was determined to help him get back to enjoying the foods he loves most. After countless therapy sessions, his speech-language pathologist cleared him for his first regular meal.

Now finally back home, Skip is looking forward to spending time with his family, dogs, and friends. His care team credits much of his success to his amazing attitude and great family support.

Congratulations, Skip! We are so proud of how far you have come!

Members of our therapy team recently got to participate in the Lutzie 43 Foundation's Safe Driving Summitt at Dade County High School. There, they shared what the physical rehabilitation process could look like after being a major car accident.

With the support of our sponsors and individual donors, the 23rd Annual Possibilities Luncheon raised over $270,000 in support of our Patient Scholarship Fund! All net proceeds will allow individuals who are uninsured to receive the physical rehabilitative care they desperately need after a traumatic injury or illness.

Throughout his major spinal surgery, stage 4 cancer, and stroke, Steffron James and his wife Dr. Sheryl Kenan James leaned on each other, their faith, and Siskin Hospital, never giving up hope.
