Siskin Hospital is committed to helping patients regain their highest quality of life after a traumatic injury or illness through inpatient and outpatient physical rehabilitation. The people of Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation understand how a traumatic accident or illness can temporarily put someone on the sidelines.They also understand just as fully that patients don't have to stay there. Throughout the years, the staff has been privileged to look into the eyes of countless patients and watch helplessness turn into triumph, defeat into success, and the fear of "I can't" turn into the spirit of "I CAN!"

James Barnes is a Unit Clerk for our stroke floor and consistently goes above and beyond in all of his duties. Karen Broadway is an LPN, primarily working on our Spinal Cord Injury and Cardiac Rehabilitation unit. She shows her caring heart in each patient interaction.

The 23rd Annual Possibilities Luncheon is officially one month away! 🎉

To celebrate, we're looking back at last year's event where over 500 guests celebrated life beyond disability. All proceeds raised from this event supports the Siskin Hospital Patient Scholarship Fund, allowing uninsured individuals to receive the life-changing physical rehabilitative care needed after an injury or illness.

Former Siskin Hospital patient Chuck Evans is thriving and living life one step at a time! 🦿

After suffering a traumatic injury at work that resulted in the amputation of both legs above the knee in 2008, Chuck was determined to make the most of his situation and continue living his life to the fullest.

Now, almost 20 years later, Chuck travels the country, sharing his story and highlighting the importance of workplace safety, along with remaining active through golf, running, and yoga with his wife Dana!

February is National Recreational Therapy Month, and we’re celebrating one of our own, Alyse Marianna Morgan , MS, CTRS! 🌿

Alyse leads recreational therapy services for both our Skilled Nursing Facility and Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital. From group activities to therapeutic adaptive gardening, she creates meaningful experiences that support healing and connection.

Therapeutic gardening in our Healing Garden is one of her favorite programs, and she’s excited to welcome patients back outside as the weather warms up!

1990 was truly a historic year ✨
🌎The World Wide Web was born, changing how we connect with the world
♿ The Americans with Disabilities Act passed, advancing access and inclusion
🔭 The Hubble Space Telescope launched, expanding our view of the universe
🏥 And in February 1990, Siskin Hospital opened its doors, bringing specialized rehabilitative care to Chattanooga and the surrounding region!

We are extremely proud to have provided hope and healing to our patients and their families for 36 years. Thank you for continuing to support our mission. Here's to 36 more!

Grayson is the nurse manager over our orthopedic and medical units and consistently goes above and beyond for his patients, associates, and hospital visitors. Chrissy works in our admissions department and shows her caring heart by ensuring every patient receives the rehabilitative care they need.

It’s amazing what a few months of hard work, motivation, and support from a caring, compassionate physical rehabilitation team can do!

Jay has always enjoyed trying new and exciting activities, so in early 2025, he took up motorcycle riding. Shortly after passing his licensing test, he was involved in a serious accident that left him with multiple broken bones and unable to bear weight in three of his four limbs.

Through comprehensive trauma rehabilitation and outpatient physical therapy at Siskin Hospital and Siskin Outpatient Therapy, Jay made an incredible recovery. Today, he’s back to his active lifestyle—running by the Tennessee River and even training for a half marathon.

Stories like Jay’s show what’s possible with expert care, determination, and the right rehabilitation team.
