I’m trying ollas this year (terracotta watering pots). one of my first questions in this wet spring was “would an empty Lola draw water OUT of the soil?“ and the answer is definitely yes! I’ve not put any water into this one, but it has about 1/4” of water in it after the last few days of rain (well over 2”).

This seems important to remember if the soil gets really dry, too.
