Why do I like scrimmages?

I like to study the kid’s reactions to game-like situations. As a coach you need to study them just as much as they study and mimic you. You need to set an example by how you react to and approach mistakes.

As coaches we can’t show frustration and disappointment like many out there do. That does more harm than good.

In this game we need to control our emotions, correct? Then as a coach you NEED to lead by example!

Do you know the responsibilities of the infielders when it comes to covering a bunt? If you are bunting will you bunt it straight into coverage or will you get the job done by bunting to the correct side? How’d you do?

One thing I have noticed with young kids is they wait too long to make the decision to swing. Is your young one ANTICIPATING strikes!? Make sure the body is ready to explode then allow the hands to commit to the swing. Hope this helps! Follow for more! Want to get in the cage with me? Let me know!
