Joaquin talking facts. What a good segue into promoting spay and neuter! This is so important so we can prevent the creation of cats and dogs who many will struggle as strays, be dumped and abandoned. Many will feel hunger, will be be covered with ticks and fleas and infested with heart worms. And tragically, many will not feel the love of a family and the security in knowing they are safe and cared for. Some will live their lives tethered to a chain. Yes, it’s all sad, but we have the abilities as individuals and communities to do better. To that end, Generations Family Medical Clinic - Chelsea is donating all the proceeds from their sports physicals this year to our spay and neuter project. We have funds available for the spay and neuter of cats or dogs for pet owners who aren’t in the position right now to afford that service. On a personal level, I will match the funds Generations has earned through sports physicals for this project. Don’t be shy, we would love to help. During garden season, we will be offering free vegetable goodies from time to time in an effort to give back while also promoting clean eating. We will offer health tidbits regarding the food we are creating with Mother Nature. This week we have a bundle of radishes up for grabs. These gems were grown organically, no chemicals for fertilization, or pest or w**d control. They were pulled up this morning and will go to the first person who claims by responding to this post.

Radishes are a great source of antioxidants, calcium, potassium and nitrates. (The greens are excellent to add to a salad for a bold kick). One of their greatest benefits may be in helping to reduce high blood pressure along with a heart healthy diet, exercise and medication for those who require it.

It is free and will be available for pick from the clinic today. If not picked up today, the second person to request will get them. (Picture below is an example that was picked a few days ago)
