Big news for our sweet ALCHEMY: we are passing the torch to a fabulous, soulful and inspired new owner. We couldn’t be happier to have gifted healer Bryana Clover taking over! ⭐️

Starting ALCHEMY Holistic Collective — and it’s beginning New Moon Neuro — was such a gift to our family as we settled here in Chelsea. We have been honored to support so many clients — who then became friends — along their wellness journey. Mental health support matters and we loved advocating for it through neurofeedback and holistic care. ⭐️

Though ALCHEMY has been a magical place for our family to land, life has taken us in beautiful new directions. Brandon returned to his IT roots and is now in his dream job as Head of Technology at the Chelsea District Library. (Stop by and say hi!) Nicole is taking a hiatus from over two decades of the entrepreneur hustle to allow for more time with our daughter Theia and to support our extended family. We have loved watching her grow in this fun, healing, community space during these formative early years! ⭐️

Extra gratitude to Stacy, Martina, the local community and our awesome tribe for the support in launching AHC. We can’t wait to watch ALCHEMY grow and evolve with Bry’s skills and devotion. (And the addition of her carefully curated Clover Joy retail items!) ⭐️

An 8th-generation Reiki Sensei initiated through the Usui System of Natural Healing, Bryana carries the medicine of presence, energy alchemy and sacred witnessing. She guides individuals and communities through experiences that activate liberation from trauma, from assimilation, from silence. Great info for the next ice storm to come our way!

You salted your driveway to keep your family safe.
Now every bird and deer in your neighborhood is dying of kidney failure.
What rock salt does to wildlife:
🧂 Attracts herbivores — Deer, rabbits crave salt (mineral deficiency in winter)
🧂 Kidney poisoning — Road salt = sodium chloride (deadly in quantities animals consume from driveways)
🧂 Paw pad burns — Dogs, foxes, rabbits get chemical burns on feet
🧂 Toxic grit — Birds eat salt thinking it's digestive grit (can't process it, kidney failure)
🧂 Water contamination — Salt runoff poisons streams, wetlands, kills amphibians
The facts:

US uses 24 million tons of road salt annually
1 teaspoon of salt can kill a small bird
Deer lick driveways for salt (consume lethal doses)
Salt runoff has contaminated 40% of US urban streams
One salted driveway = toxic zone for 100+ yards

What you see: Safe driveway
What a cardinal sees: Digestive grit (they eat small stones to grind seeds)
What a deer sees: Essential minerals (licks driveway, consumes 10x lethal dose)

Alternatives that DON'T poison wildlife:
✓ Sand or gravel (traction without toxicity)
✓ Kitty litter (clay-based, non-toxic, cheap)
✓ Alfalfa meal (biodegradable, actually FEEDS wildlife)
✓ Beet juice brine (used by some cities, non-toxic)
✓ Heated mats (for steps/walkways, no chemicals needed)
✓ Shovel more, salt less (old-fashioned but effective)
✓ Pet-safe ice melt (calcium magnesium acetate - expensive but non-toxic)
If you MUST use salt:

Sweep up excess after ice melts (don't leave it to "dissolve")
Use 50% less than package recommends
Apply ONLY to walking paths (not entire driveway)
Never pile snow with salt residue near bird feeders or gardens

You wanted to prevent your kid from slipping.
You just poisoned 50 birds instead.

Agricole is piloting an in-house CSA program called Our Neighbors’ Basket, an initiative committed to ensuring local food access and security for everyone in our community.

For the next several weeks, anyone interested can reserve a pre-packed grocery box that will include produce, bread, and eggs. The box is valued at $30, but the fee is pay-what-you-can, no questions asked.

Funding for this effort is partially sourced through transaction round-ups at our registers, so if our cashiers ask if you’re interested in rounding up to the nearest dollar, you’ll know your contribution will have a direct impact on members of our community this holiday season.

Sign-ups for boxes have a Sunday deadline for Friday pick-up. Limit 1 box per person per week. Our Neighbors’ Basket is EBT eligible. 💛
