Agricole is piloting an in-house CSA program called Our Neighbors’ Basket, an initiative committed to ensuring local food access and security for everyone in our community.

For the next several weeks, anyone interested can reserve a pre-packed grocery box that will include produce, bread, and eggs. The box is valued at $30, but the fee is pay-what-you-can, no questions asked.

Funding for this effort is partially sourced through transaction round-ups at our registers, so if our cashiers ask if you’re interested in rounding up to the nearest dollar, you’ll know your contribution will have a direct impact on members of our community this holiday season.

Sign-ups for boxes have a Sunday deadline for Friday pick-up. Limit 1 box per person per week. Our Neighbors’ Basket is EBT eligible. 💛

I’m thrilled to be back at collaborating with them on this Winter Wellness Series. Up first is All is Calm - Stress less and find peace and joy this holiday season with some supportive mindfulness and grounding techniques, including breathwork, meditation and restorative yoga. No yoga experience necessary. Go to Chelsea Disttict Library’s fab new website to register (it’s free!). Registration opens next Friday. Further dates planned in January and February - hope you’ll join me!

Let’s talk about sugar addiction after all that Halloween consumption! 🍬

Americans consume more than 300% of the recommended daily amount of added sugar. The average American consumes around 66 pounds of added sugar per year. 🍬

Sugar is often compared to co***ne due to its similar effects. (Research on rats has shown that Oreo cookies activate more neurons in the pleasure center of the rats’ brains than co***ne!) People with a sugar addiction may experience behavioral changes, withdrawal and binging. 🍬

More community goodness! Thank you for all you’re doing! 🫶

Good morning and happy Saturday. Have we recovered from our candy hangovers yet?

I’ve been sharing updates about our donation site on my stories but not everyone watches stories so I’m posting here as well.

Week 1 was an absolute success. Thanks to our amazing community, I was able to make TWO bulk deliveries to Faith in Action. The volunteers were very thankful for your donations.

For those that are reading about this for the first time, here are the details:

🍎 We are accepting non-perishable foods, household products and personal items for Faith in Action.

🍔Donation bin is in our flower cart at 4885 Kalmbach Rd. Feel free to drop 24/7 (there are string lights for you night owls - it’s dark out here!)

🥗If donation bin is full, feel free to leave items next to it. I check the cart 2x day and bring items inside as needed.

🥪I’m making 1-2 deliveries per week to Faith in Action and sharing immediate needs in my stories.

🍗 If you would eat, donate it! Canned soups, mac and cheese, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, rice, beans, etc. Foods that are easily prepared by kids and hard-working parents, etc. They need all the things!

🥙 If you have a large donation or something that needs to be refrigerated please DM me or email gretchen@backbeatfarm.com to make arrangements.
