Nuestro proposito y prioridad es de ensenar, alimentar al hambriento, y sanar al quebrantado de corazon. Selah Day Resource Center is a non-profit organization serving the Chelsea, MA community. Our main purpose is to help families in need with food insecurities and individuals experiencing homelessness and drug addictions problems, with love and kindness. Our Center serves as a food pantry and a community outreach program. Selah Day Resource Center es una organización sin fines de lucro que presta servicios a la comunidad de Chelsea, MA. Nuestro objetivo principal es ayudar a familias necesitadas con inseguridad alimentaria y a personas sin hogar y con problemas de adicción a las drogas, con amor y amabilidad. Selah Chelsea Day Resource Center will be distributing food gift cards to families, ONE PER HOUSEHOLD, while supplies last.

Limited supply | First come, first served

In addition, we will be distributing our regular family food boxes as usual that morning.

This special distribution is made possible thanks to the URF SNAP Rapid Relief Grant from United Way of Massachusetts Bay, helping us support families during a time of increased need.

We are grateful for this partnership and honored to continue serving our community with dignity and care. 💙

The City of Chelsea has opened its first-ever Regional Emergency Warming Center, providing a safe, warm overnight space for adults (18+) during the winter months.

Location:
SELAH Chelsea Day Resource Center
Luz de Cristo Church
738 Broadway, Chelsea, MA

Hours:
Open 7 days a week
7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Now through March 31

The center can serve up to 30 individuals per night and offers:

A safe and warm overnight space

Case management support

One hot meal each night

Transportation assistance is available

The City of Chelsea has opened its first-ever Regional Emergency Warming Center, providing overnight shelter and warmth for adults (18+) during the winter months.

Located at the SELAH Day Resource Center at Luz de Cristo Church (738 Broadway), the center is open seven days a week from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. through March 31 and can serve up to 30 people per night, including individuals from across the region. Guests are provided a safe, warm space, case management support, and one hot meal each night.

This effort is fully funded through a state grant and made possible through collaboration with regional partners, including the City of Revere, Housing Families, and SELAH Day Resource Center.

Transportation assistance is available. To learn more or request transportation, call 339-242-7436.

A heartfelt thank you to City Manager Fidel Maltez for his continued support and collaboration with our mission — and a special thank you to United Way of Massachusetts Bay for awarding Selah Day Resource Center a $5,000 SNAP Relief Grant! 🙏

This generous funding will allow us to maintain and expand our food programs, ensuring that families and individuals in Chelsea and surrounding areas continue to have access to nutritious meals, fresh produce, and emergency food boxes when they need it most. 🥦🍎

Amigos y vecinos,
Debido al cierre actual del gobierno federal, los beneficios de SNAP (Programa de Asistencia Nutricional Suplementaria) podrían terminar temporalmente el 1 de noviembre de 2025.

Esto podría afectar a miles de familias que dependen de estos beneficios para poder acceder a comidas nutritivas cada día.
En Selah Chelsea Day Resource Center, estamos comprometidos a apoyar a nuestra comunidad en estos tiempos de incertidumbre — pero necesitamos su ayuda.

Actualmente estamos recibiendo donaciones de alimentos y tarjetas de regalo de supermercados (preferiblemente de $20 cada una) para asegurar que ninguna familia pase hambre si los beneficios se detienen.

IMPORTANT COMMUNITY NOTICE

Friends and neighbors,
Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits may temporarily end on November 1, 2025.

This could impact thousands of families who depend on these benefits to access daily nutritious meals.
At Selah Chelsea Day Resource Center, we are preparing to support our community through this uncertainty — but we need your help.

We are currently collecting food donations and food store gift cards (preferably in $20 denominations) to help ensure no family goes hungry if benefits are paused.

Every donation makes a difference.
Your generosity helps us prepare emergency boxes with healthy meals.
Together, we can keep our community strong, nourished, and hopeful through these challenging times.
