Your two eyes are supposed to work like a team. But if one eye isn’t pointing the right way, or seeing as clearly, your brain might say, “This is too confusing. I’ll just listen to the other eye!” So it turns off the picture from the weaker eye, kind of like muting one player on a video game team. The game keeps going, but the team isn’t working together like it should.
