I am challenging employers and organizations to provide help to their caregivers at work.
Family caregiving is a workforce, public health and healthcare crisis.
Caregiving affects us ALL. Don't care what you look like, where you're from, who you worship or who you love.
CAREGIVERS: Healthcare has regulations they must follow in supporting you and the patient. They have to help you. Ask for it!
Employers SHOULD help you, if they want to keep the money that every company spends on the crisis of caregiving and the resulting stress and burnout.
That leads to leaving careers, increased physical, emotional and mental health issues and so much more.
All this for the very people who hold up the following systems because they depend on the $600 Billion in FREE PATIENT CARE caregivers provide each year:
1. Healthcare
2. Long-term care
3. Medicare
4. Medicaid
5. Social Security
6. THE ENTIRE ECONOMY
If all caregivers quit right now, we are up that proverbial creek without a paddle.
DON'T THEY DESERVE YOUR SUPPORT??? They'll always have mine. I promise there are people working hard to help companies support you. COMPANIES ARE NOT LISTENING! TELL THEM YOU WANT CAREGIVER BENEFITS! It's going to take their employees to demand it.
