Yoga classes have started back up Thursday's (5-6 pm) at Cheney Parks and Recreation @ The Wren Pierson Building! We're offering 4 different yoga styles! Please call 509-498-9250 to register for one or more 4-week series. It's not too late!
February (2), 9, 16, 23: Pranayama
March 2, 9, 16, 23: Hatha Yoga
March 30, April 13, 20, 27 (no class April 6): Yin Yoga
May 4, 11, 18, 25: Yoga Nidra
Pranayama: a yoga practice influenced by pranayama (breath work). Practice a variety of breathing techniques to add to our yoga tool box. Both asanas (poses) and pranayama are offered in this class.
Hatha Yoga: a yang style flow to build strength, endurance, and flexibility. Practice moving mindfully through poses focusing on alignment and connection with our breath.
Yin Yoga: a slower, intentional practice that complements our busy yang lifestyles. Yin focuses on deeper connective tissues where muscles can soften and nothing is forced. Practice the act of stillness while placing importance on breath and time.
Yoga Nidra: also known as “yogic sleep”, is a practice of deep meditation using methods like body scan, breath awareness, and visualization to induce complete relaxation. Yoga nidra can promote a sense of calm and a feeling of clarity while also restoring and rejuvenating both body and mind. A gentle yoga warm-up will precede each yoga nidra practice.
All classes are available to all levels! Props and/or modifications are available and encouraged to help support through any limitations. Mats, blocks, and blankets are available for use; however, we encourage you to bring your own, especially for Yoga Nidra (you might even want to bring your own pillow!).
