Meet Traci, Luna, and Kayla our new Pet Therapy Team at Cherokee Regional Hospice!

We are excited to offer this additional therapy to our patients and caregivers as a way to provide comfort and emotional support near the end of life.

Pet Therapy has been known to reduce stress and anxiety and improve mood and emotional well-being. We can’t wait to see the joy Luna brings to our hospice program! 💙🐾

☀ After a beautiful taste of spring like yesterday... who's ready to get outside and move?! Or better yet -- who's ready for their outdoor 5K season? 👟💙

We're excited for our annual Run/Walk to Remember 5K - a meaningful way to remember loved ones, connect with others, and support Cherokee Regional Hospice. This year's event is dedicated to the Memory of Leanne Hammer former hospice nurse manager and master gardener. All proceeds from this event will go towards enhancements of the Hospice Garden - something that was especially close to Leanne's heart.

Paper registrations available at the Cherokee Regional Hospice Office or the Cherokee Fitness Center. Register online through the QR code.

We hope you can join us for a special day filled with hope, healing, movement, and connection.

🌟Volunteer Spotlight🌟
This week we are excited to highlight one of our wonderful hospice volunteers, Diane!

💙How long have you volunteered with us? 2 years

💙What made you decide to become a hospice volunteer? When my mom was ill and was under hospice care in 2021, I was so thankful to have them as part of her care team. They were a source of emotional support for myself as her main caregiver, as well as identifying any needs my mom had and tending to her so compassionately. I wanted to do some volunteering after I retired, and knew I wanted to be affiliated with hospice in some way.

💙What has surprised you most about hospice volunteering? I didn't realize that hospice programs are required to have volunteers. I also didn't realize how much I would enjoy it! I am blessed to get to know the staff and the other volunteers and also meet new people, which I missed after having worked in the public sector for many years. Everyone in the office is so wonderful to work with. I enjoy doing office work and am able to use the skills I have in a rewarding way.

💙If you could share one message with our community about hospice, what would it be? Cherokee Regional Hospice is such a valuable asset to our community and I encourage anyone that is in an end-of-life situation either as a patient or family member to utilize hospice services!

Thank you, Diane, for making a difference!
